$3600 fine for my lawn signs. Any body have experience with that?

Yeah. Exactly. “Hypocritical” just like Fairways said, and I agree.

The best is when they are all lumped up next to each other.

“Vote for Jim”
“Vote for Bob”
“Re-elect Judge Pete”
“Whatever you do, Don’t vote for Bob. Vote for me, Bill”
“Elect Jim”
“Elect Jim B”
“Elect Jim J”

Call it whatever you like… It all looks like garbage to me.

its not hypocritical because they both look to get in your pockets

No offense but that’s probably because you don’t care and therefore don’t take the time to understand it.

Think about this: You are complaining about sign ordinances which are put in place by an elected City Council that has authority to make those rules because people who do care voted. You have the opportunity to change the rules by also voting and electing people who feel the same way you do.

Instead you don’t care enough to know the difference but want to complain that things aren’t they way you want them to be. As far as I’m concerned people who only want to gripe and never get involved don’t really have a legitimate reason to complain. If you don’t like the sign ordinances in your town do some thing about it!

Only because you let them :frowning:

Yeah, pretty much.

I don’t mean to be hard on Steve.
I’m sure you are running for office for the right reasons, and I wish you luck.

You’ll never hear me griping that Police cars can run red lights.
Meaning, I understand different rules, but come on… within reason.

Look, I’m only trying to get people like you who have a brain and are passionate involved. We need people like you to get involved and vote these suckers out!

Humm, that’s weird. a horses head holding office? Usually I only see the horses other end getting elected.

Where’s the “like +infinity” button?

If you haven’t ever run payroll for an employee, you shouldn’t be allowed to hold office. Too many politicians come straight out of their ivory tower and into office without knowing how the real world works. About trying to build a business, trying to hire employees, trying to expand, paying bills, meeting regulations, etc etc etc and also the responsibility of family life.

They have strict regulations unless there’s an election coming up and then politicians can put there signs up without a problem at all

Out if curiosity:

  1. Are they sure it was you who put signs in prohibited location’s?
  2. Do they have picture/video evidence to prove their allegations have merit? Or did they drive by, see your sign and head to the office to see if they could get you to bite?
  3. Might a well meaning customer/relative/friend have moved your sign into a prohibited zone without knowing the law themselves?
  4. Can you be charged for placing signs in prohibited zones if you did not place signs in prohibited zones?
  5. Although in this case it was your fault, doesn’t it set a dangerous standard if one can be charged and fined BEFORE proof and process are satisfied?

I ask, not to be deceptive, but just to be sure the “innocent until PROVEN guilty” vibe doesn’t go too far out the window here. Had a friend get pinched for placing a sticker with his logo on a stop sign.

Problem was, he didn’t put it there.
They couldn’t prove who had done it, they just wanted the easy fine and be done.
Ticket was dismissed.

Tell them your local Politician said it was okay - they do it all the time. If fines are to be levied, then there is a great source of income for the City.

Political signs and Realtors have exceptions.

Print your signs to say “Vote for clean windows! Elect My Window Company” or make them look like a realtor sign.

One village over here makes EVERY sign get registered. They’ll literally take down realtor signs.

Maybe it was already asked but…is the California ?
I am guessing yes.
