Anonymous callers seeking prices

I’ve been getting a lot of callers from people who seem like window cleaners who are checking for prices. I think I’m getting pretty good at recognizing them. How do you guys feel about these calls.

Personally, I love to help people and network, even with guys in my area; almost to a fault. However, when people are dishonest or think that I don’t recognize it, it really gets my goat.

On a similar note, today I had a caller from Chicago who must have been a window cleaner (which SHE denied). She was the dumbest yet…

Here’s a snippet of the conversation.

“Hi, how much would you charge to clean 20 windows on a one-story home?”

— Well, that depends where you are at, I noticed your 312 area code. I’m not familiar with it.

“No, I don’t want my windows cleaned, I just want to know what someone would charge for this type of job.”

— Well, I don’t mean to be frank or rude, but if your not even interested in our services, I rather not share with you our pricing system. Are you a window cleaner? Where are you from?

“No, I’m not a window cleaner. I’m from Chicago. I was just wandering what someone would charge to clean my windows.”

— Well,… If you’re interested in a window cleaning price, I suggest you call a few guys in Chicago.

I mean, come on. Just be honest and I’d love to help. This is either the dumbest homeowner of all-time or some dishonest girl.

Yep & the emails.

I currently have 2 friends who moved here from out of state…and kept their out of state cell phone numbers. It is possible…unlikely, yes…but it is possible that was a local homeowner.

In fact, as I was writing that, I remember a couple years back I did a vacation home for someone who called me from their out of state phone. They called to have their windows cleaned before they arrived.

But KCpower,

“Are you aware the factory warranty on your vehicle is about to expire, this is your final notice if you would like to continue press 1, if you would like to remove yourself from this list press 2”

I would take price checks any day over that stupid message that never comes from the same area code, no matter how many times I told it to remove me from the list. And it manages to hit my business cell phone and personal cell phone

No joke, I get that stupid message atleast once a week.

I just found a way to alleviate all my problems. I just saw an old post from Chris and I think it’s worth linking to here.

Thanks Chris, I’m already editing this to use as my own

Holy Crap! Right as I finished posting this, I got a call and used the Script from Chris that I was editing and it was by far the smoothest over the phone call I’ve had to date!

Call took 10 minutes and it landed me a $365 job.

Chris- you rock!

Thanks! Yeah the script simply works if yo follow it exactly.
