i seem to burn through my ettore replacement rubbers to the point where my guys and i have had to change the our squeegee rubbers halfway through the day… anyone else having the same problem? i was thinking of changing over
the only rubbers that don’t hold up that I’ve tried are the unger soft rubbers.
I’ve had good experiences with the ettores holding up
a couple years ago i could not believe how long i could go without having to change the rubber… now we are burning through rubbers to the point where i feel like i should try something new…
It’s possible you got a off-spec batch on Ettore. I remember reading a similar post in the past and Ettore replaced the rubber. Ettore has a reputation of a quality company, I’m sure they want to keep that. I’ve always liked their products.
I prefer Unger rubber and have always been happy with it. I generally switch to a new rubber every day or every other day, depends. I always replace before a residential job though.
Forget the, try a Slayer!
Rubbers isnt a exact scirnce as far as materials go. You may run into a bad batch every now and then. Remember, bulk rubber will tend to give you more issues then cut to size rubber. If you have issues, just call em up, after all, they are one of the leading suppliers in rubber for window cleaning.
I would take your concern directly to Ettore.
They will take care of you. Excellent company.
I have run into bad runs of Ettore, but they were very few and very far in between. In the 8 years I used Ettore before I switched over to I ran into 2 bad batches. It was a moment frustration, but it also ended relativly quickly.
+2
The new softer rubbers wear out faster for sure. No matter the brand. What bothers me worse is when I get a batch of what I call “stale” replacement blades. You can spot them immediately since they feel almost gummy to the touch. If you wad them up and then let them go, they don’t go completely straight. The first time I ran into this problem it was Unger and they replaced my blades x2. The next time it happened, (a year or so later) they wouldn’t even respond to my complaint. I’ve never had this trouble with ettore. Ettore and unger are the only two companies that I have bought my replacement blades from.

Not in the Europe they don’t!!!
When I’ve sent emails tagged with request read receipt - they get sent back with “deleted without being read.”
I will be making a scene at the Fed show in the UK if I manage to attend  I will also be accompanied by a range of tools that broke within a day.
I agree. Last year we thought we may have had a batch of rubbers that were not up to snuff. “Very little life” This was a batch of 12 inch purchased at gross. Called Ettore and spoke with customer service. They had me ship a dozen used and unused rubbers from that batch. They shipped me back another gross of new rubbers plus a dozen 12 inch channels.
Oh, they also said they couldn’t find any thing wrong with the rubbers I shipped.
All in all a very professional and quick response to our concerns.
I’ll send you a dozen of the ettore speed system squgee handles that crapped out on me. I never tried to return them. Loved um till the little springs wore out. Then they quit locking.
If you want rubber that will last and last try using the wagtail rubber. Not sure how much longer you’ll be able to use them fanning as they don’t fan so well in the cooler weather.
I did the same thing with Ettore and they were very responsive and quick. I only had to do this once in the past 4 years.
That’s because it’s a hard rubber. I use LFI in my Slayer and Wagtail in Mrs Squeegee’s channels in the hotter months. Otherwise it’s Ettore rubber (Soren and standard) all the way.
