I just saw this new product called the Wag Tail for window washers, and on the video it looks great but it was the creator of the product who was demonstrating so of course he is going to make it look great.
Has anyone used one before. It looks fast but then it also looks cheaply made from the pictures. I also wonder about the flipper mop and how often you would have to replace that thing and how well would it hold up with 60 to 100 windows.
I got a Wagtail about a year ago. It’s worth every penny. It’s as revolutionary as the waterfed pole, IMHO.
It makes pole work a snap. It takes a little learning, as does any new tool. But, I highly recommend the tool.
As for the flipper, I don’t care for it at all. You can order the flipper and try if for yourself. It detaches from the squeegee channel, so if you don’t like it, you don’t have to keep it on.
I prefer the Wagtail without the flipper attachment.
Hey great video very informative, I think I might get one just to try out and maybe use it on those repeat visits, it also seems like it would be great inside homes, I wonder if it fits in your holster bucket?
As far as the fillper goes I’m guessing that attaches to the rubber, my worry is that by scrubbing with it attached to the rubber, the rubber would get jacked up faster.
I use a Pulex Tubex. The Wagtail (squeegee only) fits in the squeegee slots.
The flipper does not attach to the rubber. The flipper attaches at the base of the channel, and flips over the top of the rubber. With this in mind, view the video again and you will see it.
The new Wagtail squeegees and Flippers came in 2 days ago. We will have them is the store next week. The new handles are great! You can change the channel now and changing the rubber is a lot easier as well.
Mike, you need to use the Mr.Long Arm squeegee on that pole to do all those fancy moves.
Strange, I have the pole and the handle but have never tried those moves. The Mr. Long arm pole I have is the 27’ version so we’re talkin 9’ in length in the shortest position, not ideal for fancy moves.
Thanks Mark,
Sorry to hear that I would need mr longarm tools. One of the guys in my area uses regular tools with his longarm pole. Are you saying he can’t do the fancy moves.
On the other hand, I have heard a lot of great things on other forums about the wagtail. They say it has helped window washers that were in great pain from to many years cleaning windows. The ergonomics of the tool is fantastic from what I’ve heard. It has been a new less on life for quite a few window cleaners.
The Mr.Long Arm squeegee pivots on the pole tip to allow for those fancy moves. Heck Mike, you can do close to the same using the Unger 0° and any pole.
I think any kind of fanning with a pole makes it easier on your wrists. Weather it be the Wagtail or the Unger 0° or Mr.Long Arm.
Wow ! It looks like the Wagtail may be able to replace my Ettore lede-eze in its functionality with the locking mechanism.
Does it still have a flipper?
I think the one thing that would make the wagtail flipper unstoppable would be if you supplimented it with a water sprayer so you wouldn’t have to constantly re-soak it.
