I’m curious what is the biggest business you have gotten wen I say big I mean big time chain like Verizon I see Luke has autonzones church’s and Starbucks. How does one get those type of jobs and do they pay well ?
Gotta jump through hoops. Find out when they accept bids. If your just starting, I’d recommend cutting your teeth on locally owned smaller chains. Figure out the bidding process etc first. I call that bagging an elephant. Get a couple accounts like those and your on your way. Someone mentioned on here that Starbucks likes to pay on a 45 day net. Work tomorrow wait a month and a half for the check. I can’t afford to and won’t play that game yet. It’s my money and I want it now.
If anyone has tips on approaches to corporate offices for these “elephant” accounts, I’m listening too.
@wcs got any tips?

I do 4 out of the 7 starbucks here. I gave my card to all of them, most weren’t interested, one was but said she had to talk to the regional manager, while waiting for her to do that I got a call from another location and did their windows. I said to her “where did you hear about us” she said that the other manager gave her my card" I said “so you got the regional managers approval?” (thinking if she did that i would follow up with the other manager) and she said “no, I just told him i’m getting a window cleaner”. okay. after I did that one I went back to all the others and said “I just finished cleaning the windows for the starbucks on xxxx and was wondering if you would like yours cleaned too?” that started the ball rolling and how i got two more locations. I got the fourth because the manager from the first location was transfered and she hired me for her new store. of the ones i don’t do, one the property owner has someone do the whole plaza, another said they had a window cleaner but that he hasn’t been there in a while but their gonna wait to see if he does and the third i’ve left my card several times, the manager is never there and i gave up since it’s not that close to my other storefronts.
If you don’t mind me asking is the 45 day net rumor a real thing or do they just pay out of the drawer? What?
the ones i do pay cash
Thanks
Mondays are good for finding Starbucks managers because they have to process payroll.
I think the individual stores quit waiting on Corporate to get window cleaners and just pay out of petty cash. Some don’t get their windows done because of this. Who wants to wait 45 days to get paid? I can assure you the folks on payroll don’t get paid every 45 days. Such a lame way to do business - expecting the vendor to forward credit.
I did Fresh Market for a couple of years. They paid by check every week instead of Net 30 through the main office. Finally they decided the regular help would clean the doors and display windows, and even bought a pressure washer for the help to once a month spray the sidewalk.

I tend to focus on individual non corporate non franchise store front accounts. I have close to 200 accounts and 95 percent are privately owned stores. When I solicit to franchise stores I can get them once in awhile. But then I have lost four accounts all at once because of corporate decisions. Don’t have much respect for corporate. And I don’t like wasting my time to get a store I could lose in only a few months.

I dropped my store front accounts after I got into residential…im sorry but to me it’s easier to pick up a resi compared to picking up a store front.
Keith lives 1/2 hr away from me…I admit he’s the one that got me motivated to start my own biz but don’t take on his buiness model, be your own person…it’s great that you look up to him but don’t be him…be yourself…
Hey @Tgrove both those guys in those videos are stand up guys that have very very successful companys…do your f****** research before you go mouthing off!
I think you are acting like a twat. You know Dave is a REALLY nice guy, right?
You have went from being arguementative, to just being a jerk here. GO AWAY TROLL.
Residential is the way to go!
Large entities are annoying to me. I’ve done some work for corporations, and though all have approached me to have their windows done out of petty cash, it’s not reliable. Many have high turnover, and the new manager may not want their windows done, or already have a maintenance crew that does windows. For the most part, they aren’t worth my time.
