Bidding for repeat costumers

I just finished the biggest job that I have done to date and they were very impressed. The windows hadn’t been cleaned in well over 5 years so they required very detailed cleaning of each pane to make them look as they do now.

I received an email from them today to ask if they could be put in my schedule for future cleaning. Here is where the question starts. I bid the job at $2900 and it took me 3 full days with another guy. Not too bad really. I was thinking that I would recommend they have the outs done every 6 months and the ins/outs done yearly. I am pretty sure that they will go for this but I have no idea how I should bid it. I think that I will be able to wfp the outs now since they are in better shape now so I would say probably 5 good hours on that. For the ins/outs I think I can do them in about 1 1/2 days. So based on this information what would you bid it at? Also, if they decide to just do it yearly, what would you bid that at?

Thanks in advance for any help that you guys can provide.

I think this should have been sorted out before the job…but I know the way it goes sometimes. I would base the price on the duration i.e. every 3 months, 6 months, year. Only you know how low you can really go & how high for being profitable. After 6 months you are back at 1st clean status anyway.

I don’t know if you can alter the topic title, but “repeat costumers” is something Ronald Reagan would have said

When I started the job they didnt have any intentions of having me come back but they saw how they turned out and that changed their minds. I guess what Im asking is if you guys go by a percentage of savings if they schedule every 6 months or yearly?

For residential, I typically discount 10% for 6 month service and 15% for 3 month. I feel this equates to my time-savings efforts.

Thats the answer that I was looking for. Thanks

I agree with Larry. I do this for all customers, residential or commercial.

Karl was also right when he said that after the six month point, you’re back at first clean status, especially as far as detailing/scrapping/scrubbing goes. WFP would be ideal, if it is sufficient to clean them to your satisfaction.

I am glad that you were asked to repeat the job. Nice work.

Yeah, I was very excited to hear them ask me to come back. This is a big job for me and I am hoping that it will lead to more jobs this size down the road.

It definitely will~! Your price is pretty good, but you may want to consider getting one more guy on the insides to get it done in less than a day and a half. You can get them on a quarterly on the outsides for 6 or 7 hundred, and I am sure they will bite.

Also, consider what type of business it is, and ask the main guy if you can give some discount flyers to the workers there, maybe have them distribute them from the mailroom. Something designed only for them. “Have you looked out of the windows? Would you like the windows in your home to be just as nice and clean? Call now for a special offer for all ---- employees, 20$ off our original price!!”

If you job is every 6 months, you should keep it the same price, those insides are a real bear, keep it the same.

I bid my jobs the same if it is a one time clean or monthly- Star Brite does not give discounts…

It looks like they have decided to have them cleaned yearly with power washing included. I am going to charge the same or more next year so I guess it works out. Plus the power washing is a nice little check too since Im doing the entire parking lot and circle drive.
