Met with a guy last week who does ads at car washes. This particular car wash is in a wealthy area and has about 10,000 regulars each month. So when people drop off their car they walk through a door and theres a a nice
2ft by 2ft sign. Kind of like how movie posters are outside a theater with a case over them. Plus theres a business card dispenser on the sign. The point is everyone who goes through there will see this sign and have the choice to take a card. I figure these are the types of people who get their windows cleaned or homes cleaned etc. They get their cars washed at a top notch place on a regular basis and have money to spare on services. Its pretty cheap too. Obviously the sign needs to be really catchy. I think it might be a good way to break into this area. What do you think?
It’s better to go for it than to wonder what might have been.
How many jobs do you think you need to break even off it?
Consider having it professionally designed.
Might work, might tank.
Why not write down the names of the businesses that have an eye-catching, well-designed, direct response ad up right now in the same spot, and ask them if they’ve found their investment to be worth it.
If they say yes, ask them what kind of person has been calling them, and then consider that when making your ad (of course, this is most valuable only when your target demographic matches their’s).
How much is it? Big is it? How long will it be up?
Sounds great Colm - how 'bout this: -
“You’ve had your car washed - how 'bout your home?”
It’s $125 a month 26 inches high by 22 inches wide. I already went for it. The ad has been professionally designed. Its up for a year and we can make as many changes as we want without charge for printing and installation.I just think about how many people ask for our card when they see our van. If we have a nice sign and a card dispenser this might be gold! I suppose even if we get one job in a month its covered and then some. Good idea Karl!
Pretty cool idea… please let us know how it goes!
