[B]Effective April 15[/B], 2009 the Boston Fire Department is recognizing the Phil Ackland testing, per protocol and procedure requirements submitted to B.F.D. from Phil Ackland.

It has to do with cleaning kitchen exhausts. You can find information on it by searching Phil Ackland on the web.
Due to what was considered improper cleaning of a restaurant kitchen grease exhaust system a fire broke out and during the process of extinguising the fire two fire fighters were killed. As a result of this the state of MA. and the city of Boston passed laws requiring that all vent cleaners be certified. Thus far the IKECA and Phil Ackland have stepped forward to offer certification programs for the city to use. They have both been accepted. As you can see this only affects those who are doing this type of cleaning in the state of MA. and the city of Boston. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
