Have any of you cleaned windows for things other than cash? If so, what are some trades that you’ve done? Food? Other services that you received?
Many food place and rounds of golf
If you do a search on “bartering”, you’ll find lots of info.
I have bartered for furniture, golf clubs, eye exam with contact lenses, and Chick-fil-A. My favorite is cleaning windows for vacation properties in exchange for a weekend stay.
I will gladly barter…what’cha got?
My CPA said that “Bartering” is the same as income and value needs to be reported. (Cali)

Oh, I’m not doubting that. I was just curious what you may have bartered for personally?
BTW, your logo is coincidentally very similar to mine
Gotta love vistaprint eh?
I just bartered for a really cool smoker.
LOL. Hey, it was cheap, and my return has been more than worth it
I’d love to get a smoker at some point! I just scored 2 season ski passes for myself and my wife. I’m pretty stoked
I had the same one as you until I handed a customer my card and he pulled the same one out of his wallet with another companies name on it. Was kind of embarrassing.
Ill see if I can post a pic of the smoker. Hand made.

Been using it for many years. I edited it to my liking and have just kept it. Seen others around, but have managed to make mine unique.

i always feel weird asking to trade for stuff. but we do work for the owner of a massive furniture chain, so i was thinking of trying to get some nice furniture in exchange for window cleaning.
how do you guys go about bringing that up with customers?

What makes it unique? Just curious. I know it’s off subject.
In the past 3 weeks:
Sub Sandwiches (to take home to family - I can’t eat wheat), Oil Change, Down payment on 2 kids bicycles at a local bike shop - for my boys big Christmas present.
I love bartering

For me, she felt my price for windows was too high, but the price I did quote her coincided with the price of 2 season passes. She emailed me and said she talked to her boss and asked if 2 season passes plus rentals for my wife each time would be feasible. I’ve been an avid skier since 1992, but with the rising price of lift tickets, it’s been hard to justify. So I easily accepted this deal. By no means was I looking to have a service for goods deal. But I’ll take it
Just as long as you don’t work for Peanuts.
I just got my daughter a Monster High Birthday cake

I’m taking scratches out of display cases for store credit at a gun shop. And the same at a archery shop.
I try and set up lunch barter for every route day. With a little fuel my guys work faster. I’ve also had at least 10k of dental work done for entire family using a barter company ITEX. It’s like fishing out of a barrel, no advertising they just call. I have like 8k in Itex dollars. Just spent 1.1k for a $45 heater part that took 10 hours to change out in my F-150. Ford quoted me $1200 - Company that uses Itex will cost me $45 plus 1.1k in trade dollars.
I also use a flower shop regularly.
