Coupon specials

I need ideas, just coupon deals.

Like 15 exterior windows for $99.99 ect…

Maybe some that have room for up sale, like screens extra…

I dont wanna burn my self… First time making WC coupons

I used to run a coupon in our local paper for $30 Off your first cleaning. It worked well

I think I have seen Chad make that statement ^^^^ 5+ time over the last 2 years…LOL…its does work!!!

Was that subject to a minimum charge?

Or $30 off any job over $200?

I just used a $50 off on my door hangers for first time customers. I have a $200 minimum on residential work and I like to think I’m not a low baller.

LOL. Honestly, I tried everything in the beginning to get work. The $30 Off coupon was the only thing that worked for me.

I ran that coupon as I was just starting to build my company. I did not have a minimum at that time. I think having a minimum charge would be a great idea. I just wanted to make some money so I could eat and pay bills. Any job I landed… I was so excited. I would have cleaned the windshield on someone’s car if they would have paid me. I was on a mission to make this business work. Honestly, the majority of those clients are still with me today. It has worked out well.

personally i would never do a deal that was only by coupon or for first timers. as a customer nothing annoys me more than finding out that i am paying more as a loyal customer than some cheapskate beside me who shops by coupon from whoever has the best price.
as a retailer i did “sales” to attract new customers and reward regulars and i always made sure the regulars knew about them well in advance.
for window cleaning i will maintain the same protocol.
i am working on spring marketing right now and am considering a discount on screen preservation (screen magic) with a complete clean order also considering a mid summer outside coupon. both of these allow keeping my base price in tact and hopefully pick up a little extra as well.
if i do a blanket discount it would be for early booking available to all.
of course when we are just starting we have no pre-existing customers to offend.

Im not a marketing guru, but how are my pre-existing customers going to find out that I am giving first time customers 35.00 off.
If they do I don’t really think they will get upset its common to give a first time customer a discount especially when you do door knockers . No!!! . You could be right though maybe I shouldn’t of put for first time customers oops my bad.

20 windows for anywhere from 199-299 is our best coupon.

It eliminates the need for an in person estimate. They call, we tell them our current specials, explain that each additional pane is x, deep screen cleaning is x, then track and sill “white glove service” is x

Makes it so we can just book the jobs and keep the day moving, while achieving the pricing we want from every job

I find like Dave said XX windows for $XXX cuts out a lot of the leg work.

i’m no guru either mike
yes it’s very common. have you been in a store you frequent waiting to pay, the customer in front hands over a coupon and gets a discount but when you ask you are told you need the coupon, or worse “that customer is new you come here all the time”. this makes me feel like crap. good stores will have coupons on hand and automatically make sure you get the deal too. if it costs a lot to get a new customer who may only be a one timer how much does it cost to lose a regular?
in my city i am constantly annoyed by my cable supplier. there are 2 main ones and they each offer deals to the others customers to switch but if you’re an idiot loyalty customer like me there is no deal. if there was another company that did not do this i would switch to them but alas…
many people here just constantly switch taking the deal which is usually 6 months or a year and then wait to switch back. so neither company is getting them as a loyalty customer.
i plan to work a small area and HOPE many of my customers will not only know each other but talk about me and my service. rather than give the new guy a deal i would rather give the regular a referral fee in the form of cash or future discount. I used to pay cash to customers and workers for referrals that bought when i was a salesman for a home insulation company. before i started paying i guess there were some referrals but they just went thru the office. when i started paying they came to ME. the installers would actually call me from jobsites to say a neighbor was interested. this was before cell phones so they would actually use the prospects phone and then turn it over to me!! 100% closing rate.
also i would want the regular to know because i would want to leave him a few coupons to give to his neighbors. “hey thanks for the business we have special going on and even though its for new customers i’m giving it to you and here’s a few to pass on.” this would make me feel good as the business or the customer
i like the old saying “do unto others as you would have others do unto you”

This isn’t retail, it’s window cleaning… If you treat this like retail you’ll most likely leave money on the table and make mediocre income (like retail)

Good luck and if your system works I’ll gladly eat my words.

i am surprised by the response mike. my post was mainly about treating customers as i would want to be treated, with respect and integrity.
anyway i’m going to bow out of this conversation now.

From all his post, he always seems to come off a little hard? Maybe just his personality. But I think he means good

The $xx off coupon for first time customers is probably one of the best ways to attract residential customers… Especially when you first start to market to homes.

Yes it may seem like they only want the $xx off and never use your services again, but that’s why you make the service worth the full asking price the second, third, and every other time after.

I wasn’t trying to sound like a dick, but thinking with a retail brain in this service industry doesn’t make much sense and certainly won’t make the dollars you are looking for.

Yes definitely treat your customers with respect an integrity . I just don’t think your disrespecting them by not offering them x amount off like you could do for a first time customer . It’s just business .
