Damn you, bucket handles. And damn you lawn guys

Wow.

Landscapers are jealous of us

Kenny, put some sugar cubes in the gas tank on his lawn mower…

Kenny,
Dont take it personal. One of my guys was a former landscaper and wasnt too fond of the profession. He said that their crew would mow miles of grass at all kinds of apartment complexes and someone would call if they forgot to use a weed eater around 1 fire hydrant or a fence post.

The guy was probably just having one of those off days or got ripped by his boss for coming late to work that morning. Dont let his bad attitude rub off on you. Just smile and let him keep his stress for himself instead of dumping it on you. Try it. It works.

Steve

Might be time to set fire to that bucket my man.

My bucket experience was in the middle of winter, my husband and I working, for some reason he had the bucket on the roof with him, he was ready to climb down, I said hand me the bucket, not thinking that that bucket was the one with the bad handle. As soon as he started to hand it to me one side of the handle snapped loose and the solution emptied all over me…did i mention it was winter? My husband said it was an “accident”…

As Kramer says… “Serenity now!”

Am I missing something?

I use regular 5 gallon drywall buckets to hold my water. I have gallon marks inside the bucket so I know how much GG3 to use. I can’t remember the last time a handle broke out of one of my buckets and it has never happened in the 4-5 years that I have been cleaning windows.

In my 25+ years of masonry I can recall only a few times where a handle popped out. And in masonry it is not unusual to fill a bucket with mortar and haul it over 50’ in the air on a rope and pulley. At 8 pounds a gallon a bucket of water w/ 4 gallons weighs 32 pounds. Filled with cement a 5 gallon bucket weighs, what, 70-80 pounds. Windowgirl’s husband can back me up on that.

Am I commiting a window cleaning faux pas by using drywall buckets? I know they sell fancy buckets that fit your strip washer. But I have been using drywall buckets my entire adult life. And they’re free.

I think Frank Costanza said it first.

And it didnt work… remember he went crazy…

Lol, it worked very well… but only for a short period of time.

Probably at least 2 Kramer quotes go through my head any given day… I can’t help it.

“why don’t you just tell me the movie you want to see?!”

As w/ most wcing equipment it’s a personal preference. I prefer the rectangular wcing buckets myself. The biggest reason is it’s easier to dip the stripwasher in. I also have my bucket imprinted w/ my logo and the long side. The inside of my bucket has gallon and liter increment marks so I can be very exact in my solution mixing as well.

Thank you,

Having your logo on your bucket is a nice touch, and a wc specific bucket probably looks more professional. But if the handles aren’t worth a darn, thats not very professional or safe either.

Thank you for taking the time to respond

I’ve been using the same yellow Ettore rectangular 6 gallon bucket for 4 years and it’s as good as new. The handle is original.

On the other hand, I have been through a number of the round 5 gallon buckets (that I use for gutter clean outs) because the wire handles come loose from the bucket.

So for me, the handle on the Ettore bucket is far superior to the handles on the round 5 gallon buckets.

Great!

I started a bucket controversy. LOL

If you want a real controversy tell me what kind of soap you put in your bucket.
