You’re thinking of Peter Thiel’s comment - he’s an interesting cat.

Thiel is probably correct but I think all of Silicon Valley’s powers are overstated. This is something Thiel also says and he owns a lot of it. These kinds of organizations seem imposing but their powers are ephemeral. Remember myspace and IBM. These companies have overpromised on self driving cars, prospects of AI and I think there will be a period of disillusionment and disenchantment which could persist for years if not decades.

Not sure how it is with Yelp, but with Google if the review itself is breaking a law, then it can be removed by Google.

I was able to get Google to remove a review in which the reviewer accused the company of stealing from them. We didn’t steal, and in fact never did a job for them. In New Zealand making false accusations is considered Slander which is illegal. So Google was able to remove it.

Was difficult to find what forms to fill out and took a few months, but worth it.

I said no to yelp…ten times now. The last one got after me and I politely said goodbye but they called again and said; “this means you don’t want new customers, is that what you want me to put with your yelp information?” She was threatening to make false statements!!! I can’t stand them now.

Use a review program like Nice Job, so you can respond to the review.
Don’t depend on Google, they have deleted some of my good reviews.
