Do you pay your employees for drive time?

I don’t know, maybe a job that requires a body to drive.

yea, I pay my guy/guys from start of first job to finish of last job. Sometimes we do have an hour+ drive each way. I’d say it’s factored into the $20+ an hour I’m paying him.

However my route guy has a very long day once a month. 90 miles each way, with about 10 solid hours of work ($800 day)

We pay our employees a % as well. It’s part of your, or your receptionists, job to make a route of jobs that are close together so less time is spent driving and more time is spent cleaning windows. What kind of company has 5 hours of drive time for 4 hours of work??

I worked hourly for a guy back when i used to do drywall and the first day on the job start to finish was around 10 hours.

I got paid for 7.

I kindly informed him that I can’t be compensated that way.

Now I’m the owner of the soon to be fastest growing WC biz in North America

We have to pay from show up time till the end of the day. Whether it is a percentage or hourly as long as the hours worked equal more than minimum wage you are ok in Oregon.
