Ettore Brass vs Ettore Stainless Channels

I’m with you on the whole “keeping things clean/organized.”

Even though time-wise I don’t get to focus on it as much as I’d like.

I had a boss back in the 80’s say “we’re a cleaning company… you understand that, right?”
(I think I had a bunch of bottles or something fall out of the truck)

[lighbulb moment]

I also like to wax the plastic end parts of the ladder locks - makes the ladder operate a lot smoother. My ladders used to occasionally get jammed up before I learned that trick.

Another tip is to wrap electrical tape on either side of where the rope attached to the ladder rung. Warp it around a few times until it gets thick enough to stop the rope from sliding side to side. Sort of a guide for the rope. That way the rope doesn’t slide sideways and jam the pulley while you are raising and lowering.

(ugh, now I feel dirty from that hashtag usage… Gotta go clean somethin’!)

The electrical tape tip I observed from seeing a painter’s ladders. I’m the world’s biggest copy cat. If it works, I will use it. I’ll probably think I invented it after awhile

CapeCodCleaner so what are your cleaning your alm. Ladders with?

Light sabers provide an instant coolness factor to any movie. Next time you’re fanning a window with a stainless channel, make the whhooosh whooosh noises.

Just as an aside, armies haven’t used brass/bronze weapons since like babylon. If conan was alive today, he’d be all about the steel. Or a milled aluminum AR variant.

But if Conan had a light saber… yeah, I’d totally watch that movie.

Now I don’t know what to do. Too many pros and cons. Perhaps I should buy one stainless squeegee and give it a go.

Wait you guys don’t use lightsabers to clean glass? I use one on all commercial work, really helps break up the rough crud on windows for the first cleans.

Stainless is good, I’ve also never bent or warped a brass channel. I’ve not been at this 8 years, I lose a channel before I’ve bent or broken one.

Worth a shot to try though, SS channels are cheap, so if you don’t like it you’re only missing out on like $8

Man you much be rich!

I use to use Steccone channels and Ettore brass handles because they were so light and technically less fatiguing to use, and then I switched to 100% Ettore brass squeegees. I was surprised because I actually preferred the extra weight. It was easier to use not harder. I didn’t have to press down on the glass because the weight of the brass squeegee did that for me.

No. For three reasons.

 1. You can’t 45 a light saber.

 2. I’m not sure what the correct spelling is any more. Light saber? Lightsaber? Or the English version light sabre?

 3. The Jedi robes get in the way of my boab. And without the robes you just look like a dork.

I ditch the robe once I get onsite, kinda like when they’re about to duel (see Star Wars Episode I for example)

Underneath my robe I have my belt set up and ninja boab with my lightsaber at the ready

A ninja with a light saber. Awesome.

I really hope Ettore is working on this.

It even makes this guy cool.

Important usage warning:

 1. Make sure the Ettore LS 18 is turned off before sitting down. Very important.
 2. Keep the LS 18 away from fingers, hands, and other limbs while turned on.
 3. If you’re doing highrise, watch your ropes.

Light saber squeegees? I’m worried about OSHA.

Don’t worry, i use Jedi mind tricks when OSHA comes up… “These aren’t the window cleaners you’re looking for”

I use all brass, I tried upgrading to the ettore super channel and didn’t like them…

I think I’m sticking with brass channels. I don’t have bending and warping problems so I’m all good for now. I think I’m just itching to change something.

When I get that, I usually start with my underwear…

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit
