I’m with you on the whole “keeping things clean/organized.”
Even though time-wise I don’t get to focus on it as much as I’d like.
I had a boss back in the 80’s say “we’re a cleaning company… you understand that, right?”
(I think I had a bunch of bottles or something fall out of the truck)
I also like to wax the plastic end parts of the ladder locks - makes the ladder operate a lot smoother. My ladders used to occasionally get jammed up before I learned that trick.
Another tip is to wrap electrical tape on either side of where the rope attached to the ladder rung. Warp it around a few times until it gets thick enough to stop the rope from sliding side to side. Sort of a guide for the rope. That way the rope doesn’t slide sideways and jam the pulley while you are raising and lowering.
The electrical tape tip I observed from seeing a painter’s ladders. I’m the world’s biggest copy cat. If it works, I will use it. I’ll probably think I invented it after awhile
Light sabers provide an instant coolness factor to any movie. Next time you’re fanning a window with a stainless channel, make the whhooosh whooosh noises.
Just as an aside, armies haven’t used brass/bronze weapons since like babylon. If conan was alive today, he’d be all about the steel. Or a milled aluminum AR variant.
But if Conan had a light saber… yeah, I’d totally watch that movie.
Wait you guys don’t use lightsabers to clean glass? I use one on all commercial work, really helps break up the rough crud on windows for the first cleans.

I use to use Steccone channels and Ettore brass handles because they were so light and technically less fatiguing to use, and then I switched to 100% Ettore brass squeegees. I was surprised because I actually preferred the extra weight. It was easier to use not harder. I didn’t have to press down on the glass because the weight of the brass squeegee did that for me.
I think I’m sticking with brass channels. I don’t have bending and warping problems so I’m all good for now. I think I’m just itching to change something.
