Here’s a video for putting a Ettore (or Unger) locking cone on a Mr Longarm pole or Garelick.
Great tip (pun intended) Tony!
petty cool…!
I got my Ettore locking cones today and it took me about 15 minutes to put them on my 2 24’ Garelick poles and my 3 remaining Mr Longarm ProFit poles. The only difference for putting the tips on the Garelick is you hae to cut the end of the pole off right behind the dimples that hold the screw end in. After that you have about 1 1/2" of the tip in the pole and just pull that out and the rest of the installation is like the Mr Longarm.
Great Video !
Noob question, Tony:
What does one do if they happen to have both Unger and Ettore tools? Do you need twice as many poles with each company’s tips attached? Or is one really kinda forced to stick to one brand only?
If you want to use the locking feature of the cone you would need to use the corresponding tool - Unger w/ Unger and Ettore w/ Ettore. Other brands seem to work well w/ both tips.
