For the past year I’ve been using a Vikan monofilament brush and a hogs hair brush with regular pencil jets for my water fed poles.
I just ordered a set of fan jets from WCR to install into one of my brushes. I haven’t decided which brush (hogs hair or vikan) I will install the fan jets in.
I’m leaning towards putting the fan jets in the Vikan brush. For those of you who have used both types of brushes with both types of jets, which brush do you prefer to have fan jets in and why?
As an option I may drill extra holes on both brushes and install fan jets on both of them. When I run into hydrophobic glass I can just switch the tiny hoses to the fan jets.
For myself i prefer the fan jets on my hogs hair brush. Mainly because i use the hogs hair for more tougher jobs, like doing wind walls etc. I feel i get better scrubbing action and a better rinse with the fan jets on those super dirty jobs.
Got two Vikan brushes one with pencils and one with fans, I still prefer my hogs hair with fans over the vikan with fans, the only difference is i had to give my hogger a good hair cut so the jets worked properly. Maybe its a mental thing, but i just feel like i get a better scrub and rinse with the that setup.
Yeah, I was thinking that the hogs hair brush has to be altered in order for the fan jets to work. I guess that’s to allow clearance of the wider spray pattern of the fan jets.
Still though, I’ll probably try the fan jets on the hogs hair brush since I favor the scrubbing power of it over the Vikan monofilament brush.
