First time cleaning storm windows

So can anyone point me in the right direction… I have never had to clean storm windows and I am running into different issues. Some windows unlatch pretty easy but others are really difficult ti take apart. Any suggestions? I got a hefty paycheck coming my way if I finish this job tomorrow.

Are they storm panels that slide up and down in a track or framed storms that hook onto an eye on the sill?

I’m never usually 'that guy.'
But, do a search and start reading.

(it would take less to find the info reading, than for us to re-explain it.)

Be analytical, I always say "figure out how shit works."
A window is better cleaned, when it’s in place.

  • some will pull every storm and try to clean both sides while they are out, flip-flopping around, bending over, etc…
    I’m totally against that

Wait a minute…
Before I go further…

Are you doing this alone or with help?!?

I’d have to agree. Some are easy some are a pain. You just gotta deal with what comes at you. That’s part of the deal…

Within 4 minutes Dan was ready to help.
Within 10 minutes, there were two of us.

If either of us had written a full page detailed summary of what we do…
Would the OP have actually read it?

I did what I hardly ever do, mentioned the “search.”

  • I don’t like to send someone searching, in general, but there are a lot of good posts out there…

Here it is, 24 hours later, and I’m waiting to help.
Just sitting here…
Waiting to help…
I’m sure if the OP answered OUR questions, we would have spent some time getting into detail.

But that’s ok…
I’ll just sit here…
And wait to help…

Ready when you are…
Yep. Just sitting here…
Waiting to help…

No banter…
No, Mets talk with Mike.
No Detroit jokes with Jared.
Just waiting to help…

I clicked on this thread to see FastFanner’s response.
But since we don’t have the logistics/clear picture, he’s just waiting, too.

Waiting to help…

Oh, I heard a noise!
Let me address it immediately!

  • nope, it was just a cricket.
  • a cricket chirping.
I asked, but… unfortunately the cricket doesn’t need my help.

Bzzzbzzzz

Damn Mosquitos are bad around here…

Oh wait, we were talking windows… I guess?

Okay. First get a money order. Make payable to danwagner, FastFanner, & JfromtheD. Make sure the names are clearly marked. We don’t want to loose any money. Our first storm window workshop aires at 9PM central time. All your questions will be answered there. Be sure to write out the check first…

Humm, maybe you can help me then. I was wondering how much you’d bid on a hotel. Umm, about average size, no pics, no count, I just want to get a feel for what you’d come up with.

Oh, incidentally, I moved to Dallas (The D in the Big T) in 1997 and that year there were sooo many crickets it was gross. They’d cover entire walls of grocery stores and when they died, they’d fill up gutters. I thought that was just normal texas stuff. Apparently not.

We dont do them. We stay busy enough with new glass that we don’t have to be knee deep in glass and broken latches and frustration to make money. We did them at first but realized the stress wasn’t worth the time or money. We can make as much, 2x as fast, on newer homes, without the frustration or risk of anything getting broken.

Wow you are fast… Yayy…

Soooo… the Mets just got Cespedes , before that they were ready to hang Terry Collins, & Sandy Alderson. Now everything is good in Met Land .

We are on a 5 game winning streak we just took over first place , everyone is happy I’m happy !! - things look good there talking playoffs . New York is alive with baseball !!!
We have Harvey tonight , Degrom Tommorrow , Syndergaurd the next day.

The end !

Yeah I hear ya. I just had a tweaker ask if he could borrow my phone and I was like sorry it’s a company phone.

You’re just not going to catch a tweaker who runs off with your phone.
