For Suffering Employees

i’m humming it right now Dwight

was the typo deliberate?

I’m thinking…yes.

It’s one of those stupid lolcats.
:stuck_out_tongue:
It was intentional.

Don’t come in late, take extended breaks, leave the inside of the company van full of your garbage, get quality complaints that have to be re-done over, have a daily dilemma that I have to schedule work around --"Immmmmm about to fire soooomebooodys Azzzzzzzzzz!

Steve

Drop the hammer!
There is no room for lousy employees in todays market. There are plenty of overqualified unemployed out there to put up with bad techs.

I often wish I could be like my employees and rush out of the office at 5:00 to grab their beer and boat and go fishing until dark. Or never get a call from an angry customer on the weekend, or never lay in bed at night staring at the ceiling worrying about a big job that may or may not happen. Yeah employees have it rough.

Had to tell an employee today that the “Def Leppard” jeans he had on was throwing my hard earned marketing image money out the window. You would think that employees would see things this way (projecting a professional image = repeat business=job security) but I guess their pay check doesnt pay for thinking. It only pays for cleaning windows. I have a dress code in the handbook. Some just try to see what they can get away with. Drives me frickin crazy!

Steve

Should’ve known this one would get lost with a bunch of small biz owners.

Hey we got to vent somewhere!

True enough. Perhaps I can change the title of this thread to “Small Business Owner Vent Thread.”

One time I rented a boom lift for $300.00 a day, and my employee dissapeared with the key! Needless to say, he’s not here anymore.

Yeah,
I went a little off the deep end on this thread- sorry about that. :o

Hey Steve, in your handbook are there any repercussions for violating the dress code? If not I’d implement some.

Tony,
Not really. I never thought I would have to come down hard on this type of thing. As for the employee with the holes in his jeans, he showed up with a brand new pair of jeans today:). I actually told him that I liked how they fit him and I was planning on buying a pair really soon. A little psychology added in there for good measure.

Does he respond with, “Sell crazy someplace else, we’re all stocked up here*?”

Larry,
He actually responded with " Im not renting any space out in my head for you today"
