I recently created a facebook page for my business. Facebook seems to me like an amazing networking tool. I’m just having trouble figuring out how to use it. How can I get my page out there?? How can I share it with friends??
Post your url here & watch your membership grow.
What is your goal for Facebook ?
Likely you do not so much care about a bunch of window cleaners signing up as you do your current customers.
I believe it to be extremely difficult for a service business to have success with this. The way to have any success is a reason for people to stay connected with you.
What is it you want to achieve? Are you just trying to strengthen the relationships with your current customers?
I think it would be awkward to be friends on facebook with window cleaning service among school mates, friends from work, family, I’ve tried it on myspace and it didn’t work good at all.
Im just trying to have some additional exposure. I hear people talking about facebook everywhere I go so I thought it might be another way to get our name out. I have set up one for myself personally and thats worked well as far as keeping contact with people, even with some of our closer customers. Maybe the page specifically for business wont work at all. Just thought I’d see if anyone had anymore experience with it
facebook is network to keep in touch with friends and possibly family…as far as networking and marketing, you’re waisting time. It’s free, yeah, but not in the target area you’re looking to capture.
better off spending time working on your website and ranking it better
Facebook is useless for getting new customers.
100%. You don’t even get a backlink out of it, so no SEO benefit either.
I wouldn’t waste much time with most social networking sites, your customers are not going to find you on there.
The only positive would be to make a Myspace page and then add thousands of friends and hope they check out your regular site to boost your website visits, to help with your Google ranking, but even that is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to effectiveness.
Instead focus of SEO to promote your website. Don’t spend more then 50 bucks on SEO. In fact don’t spend a dime on SEO everything you need to know about SEO can be found online for free or at Barnes and Noble. Go there for a few nights, read through all their books and take notes. Don’t buy anything.
If your customers ask you for a freebie, what do you tell them?
I think generally you’re right, but I’ve had a couple of customers from it.
Anything that generates “a couple” or “a few” is a waste of time for me. There are far too many ways to generate mass leads to fiddle around with this (for me)
A customer is a customer. No matter how you pitch it.
What kind of freebie are you talking about?
See attached image good example of someone getting work from Facebook…
Lol
yeah, he is kicking butt with it…
He will be… Facebook and twitter are going to slowly replace email and the way most people communicate.
maybe, maybe not
