GG3, GG4...and SLIP

Using just enough and not too much is key, as well as having a definite measurement every time. And I like the “Classic Dawn” because it pours easier and is not so concentrate. “Dawn Ultra” is concentrate and thicker. You would have to use less of the Ultra and being so thick it’s harder to pour and measure.

I can function with GG4 but the slip that Dawn Classic provides is simply more ergonomic in my opinion. Used in the right amount I don’t believe for a minute that it leaves more residue than GG4. They both leave a minute amount of residue of which if there is a difference, not enough to be quantified. And windows do get very clean and stay clean a long time with just the right amount of “Classic Dawn”.

I do like the 8 oz. float bottle of GG4 with 1 oz. of Classic Dawn I mixed yesterday after reading your post. It surely will clean well and has plenty of glide or slip so it is much more ergonomic than straight GG4. That’s important to me.

Nice Ray,
I guess I should give a straight Dawn mixture a try. I have Dawn Ultra Concentrate. Perhaps I could mix it in my 8oz float bottle with water. I’m thinking about two ounces in the bottle and 1/2 an ounce from the bottle in my two gallon bucket of water. What do you think?

Mike, I feel sure that particular method would work well with Dawn Ultra Concentrate. I would give it a trial and error period before finalizing optimum measurements. When they say Dawn Ultra Concentrate they do mean Concentrate so you’re definitely on the right track by dilluting the Dawn Ultra way down in your float bottle.

To be honest though, I like your method of 7:1 ratio of GG4: Dawn mixed in an 8 oz. float bottle, but with Classic Dawn as opposed to Dawn Ultra. I’m going to use some of it on a first clean dentist office next Wednesday. Next time you’re at the market buy a 14 oz. bottle of Classic Dawn and try it using your method and I think you’ll really like it.

For what it’s worth, I WFP most all of my residential exteriors so there’s no residue left at all. There would be a certain amount of residue left with use of GG4 and/or Dawn solutions.

Thanks Ray,
But I already have a mixture of Dawn Concentrate and water in a float bottle ready to go. I’m thinking of adding just enough to where bubbles are starting to form on the washed glass. If I dip and squeeze my sea sponge I want to see just a little bit of soap not bubbles all over my hand. On the sill bubbles are a big PITA. Then I’ll wait and see how the glass holds up to the weather. Should stay fairly clean for about a month.

Who’s Ray?

Heehee…I was gonna let it slide but…

At least it starts with an R.

No big deal, just another name.

Richard

Thanks for giving me a heads up guys!

That reminds me of a funny story.

I cleaned a ceiling fan at my first job about a year ago. Then I did about 20 storefront window jobs. People were looking at me strange all day. I made a couple storefront sales calls and no luck just a strange look, like I was a real weirdo. Anyway when I got home there it was looking at me in the mirror. A HUGE I mean HUGE clump of dust from the ceiling fan job stuck to my baseball cap visor. Nobody said a word all day long. HaHa

Now if Larry was a customer he would have said something.

I’d even tell you about that booger hanging out of your nose, Mike.

Big Brother is watching you.

With friends like you who needs enemies?
