Greek window cleaners

Oh goodie! Im the first one to post here.

Ok so, my girlfriend wants to move to Greece. It’s no surprise, she’s well traveled and was born in Germany. Having duel citizenship she has the luxury aquiring work much more easily than I would. I’de have to fide minority work I suppose.
I’m hip to the idea. Only live once right?.The only euro wc’ers we have here are from the UK. Has anyone ever been to Greece or know anything about wc’ing in Greece. I looked online, cant find anything. So my plan is to make as much money as I can and say F-you to the IRS and DOR and high tail it out of the US.
Just thought I would throw that out there.

Hope you like your Ouzo my friend.

Santorini island … oh man, I must go there before I leave this world

Greece is hot - very hot.

Yeah man… some of my family lives there… and they say that a lot of the people sleep all day and just come out at night when its cooler… Hot hot hot!

Josh - before you make the move, check out taxes - you may just start loving the IRS. I currently pay 36% tax + autonomo monthly (roughly $300) before I pick up a squeegee & no tax breaks as such. Once your declared earnings reach 45k (I think) you are in a totally different tax park! Yep, all of Europe is pretty much the same. When I worked in Germany, I not only had to pay normal tax, but also re-unification tax & religeous tax taking it up to 60% of my total earnings.

Greece is actually a pretty poor country. Youd probably get some vacation homes though. It is really hot there like everyone says. Taxes in Europe are ridiculous. Having a business in the states is a much easier endeavor. If you do move to Greece try getting an English teaching job and then do windows on the side. I moved to Spain on a totally spontaneous idea a few years ago and it turned out to be the greatest adventure of my life. Go for it!

We’re staying here in the good 'ol U.S. of A
Girlfriend took a teaching job in the neighborhood. Too good to pass up. And business is good in Seattle. We’ll save Greece for our honeymoon =)

why so?

Since you asked for opinions, I will give you mine with all respect to you.

If you are going to go to greece, keep your business here running and continue running it. You are 35 years old man, and you aint getting younger. Love is great my brother, but starting over unless you got a plan, in my (maybe crazy) opinion, is not the wisest choice.

Wouldnt that be like quitting your job without having another one lined up?

My brother has started maybe 8 or 9 different companies. All of which have failed because he never stayed with it. He was always on the hustle. I dont think this is you at all, my point is that, he is REALLY smart and has great ideas that work…but he gets bored and lets it fail. If he would stick with it, he would be in the 7 figures by now. We all can do the same thing, but find a way to make it run on auto pilot for a while.

Look at the owners of this site, they got a window cleaning company, a forum site with a store on it. Really that is running about 3 companies at once. So, running many at the same time is possible.

Its your life man, but I wouldnt do it, not just up and leave the business and just wonder what life will be like. You may end up starting a million dollar business, but why dont you put someone in the captains chair for a while instead of giving up the ship?

going to greece , with no big safety net might seem crazy, yet it WOULD also be a great adventure , who knows whats there , i once met a guy at Moscow airport who was flying into America on a 1 way ticket ,with no job and only 1 nights accomodation booked - thats another adventure

once when holidaying in China i met an american who was jaded with life in general and had just upped sticks and flown into Beijing with his 12 year old son to find work, now that was probably going just a bit toooo far !!

Do I really have to spell it out?

yes

Do your own homework
Didn’t also realise: that Greece is the second poorest country to work in Yurup!

So should I google---- “Why you shouldnt clean windows part time in Greece” ???

Nevermind!

I dont really care.

Tell me this isn’t in writing and traceable!
