This one of the funniest things that I have ever come across. I was doing some of my store front work today and I see this guy standing behind me. He got my attention. So I stopped and talked to him for a sec. He hands me his business card and proceeds to tell me that if I ever need any help with my work I could give him a call. He then goes on to tell me that he as 10 yrs experience and he is licensed , bonded and insured .
I asked him who he was insured with. He says Farmers Ins. Farmers will not Write a Janitorial or window cleaning policy. My agent told me that . LOL
I keep talking for a couple of minutes and I ask him You are Licensed , Where ? And you said you are bonded. How does that work for you. He started to fumble his words and his face got flushed. I told him , I dont work with other companies. If I would need help I would hire an employee. I asked him if this line of BS worked on any customers? He got mad and left. Iasked if he wanted his card back
I had a guy call my office ask for a job…didnt have a license, said I could just drop off the wc supplies to him downtown and hed do the work…yeah ,right…im sure id see all of that money…
Farmers insurance quoted me $1000 a year for general liability in 2005-2006. I’ve used secura for the last ten years. Their rate has been between $500-$789 per year for general liability.
My agent told me that Farmers quit writing GL policies for any Janitorial/ Window Cleaning about 4 yrs ago. At least in Missouri.
Hey I am all about someone looking for work and trying to make it themselves. BUT Why put up a front that you are something your not. It will come back to bite you in the a$$ eventually. I know the guy was full of BS. I could never use him or point him a direction for that reason.
As for the dude standing on the freeway exit. Some of those ppl get 40 - 50 grand a yr doing that. I saw it on dateline or 20/20 or something like that.
