A trick we have used is oooo steel wool around the brush.
Any brush.
You could wrap a sponge in oooo wool and use two rubber bans to hold it
in the middle of any brush.
That should take care of any hard dirt.
Easy on easy off.
What a great Idea I need to try this myself more often

Is there a significant difference in brush weight between dry and wet?
vic
When comparing wet to dry when a boars hair brush - Yes. The boars hair holds a ton of water whereas a nylon doesn’t.
Good answer, Tony! I was sort of baiting Shawn and Phil to weigh them both ways. After all, it’s going to be wet at the top of the pole…
vic
That’s good to know.
I guess I will be ponying up for a Super-Lite brush since I didn’t get one with the pole.
Yo Chris and Alex,
I almost forgot Alex Gardiners thoughtful post!
Can you get the brush webpage to show how long all the brushes are and how much they weigh?
WFP brush, hogs hair, boars, monofilament | Buy Window Cleaning Supplies, Tools, Equipment, Products
That will help a lot when we are shopping…
I’d like to try a Super Lite brush on my Simpole…
Thanks a bunch!

Thad,
Email me your details and I will get one to you right away.
This weekend I am doing a 5 story building with my WFP,second cleaning. I will try it this time with the nylon brush and share the results.
The hogs hair at 55feet is super heavy and I am no wimp. I work out 4 days a week.
Hey Mike, that Super Lite brush is only .6 lbs…

Boars hair w/ reach around and white scrub pad= match made in heaven
Despite it’s chuckle inducing name and (IMO) sticker shock price tag…it was worth the buy.
I also think they could improve on the design a little (STOMPS FOOT AND COUGHS) the tightening tooth system could probably be easily replaced with some sort of locking pin system that would be much easier to make on the fly adjustments. RHG if you take that idea i want a free one!
Thanks for your comments.
It is a bit of a pricey gadget. We do offer the red piece by itself with the longer bolt as a retrofit to an existing black gooseneck at this point.
A couple things played a roll in the price being on the higher side.
- The tooling was made in America (not cheap and the investment was major for a company my size at the time)
- The parts are made in America (not cheap in comparison to having plastic parts made in China)
- There has been assembly/labor time involved with the part when it is sold as a complete gooseneck.
I’ve only heard a complaint about the price a total of 3 times now. 1 from a competitor and now 2 from window cleaners.
The 2 window cleaners conceded the fact that it was worth the cost, in the end.
Thank you for your thoughts and comments. I appreciate it.
I’m not saying it’s not worth it by any means. Technically I didnt say it was too expensive either. I just said I had a bit of sticker shock. I’m not actually complaining about the price. I’m just saying that someone who doesnt have one may experience that initial sticker shock, but will be over it once they’re labor time go down.
I don’t normally like quoting myself, but these changes never did happen, and I would still like to know:
What kind of jets are in the Gardiner Pole Systems Dual Trim (Monofilament) brush? $95.57
The RHG Dual Trim Nylon Brush 12 inch has both fanjet and pencil jets. $69.87, but how much does it weigh?
The RHG Dual Trim Nylon Brush 16 inch Dual Jets - how much does it weigh?
I believe all 3 of these will work with Simpole, since it has been modified to use the Euro threading. Is this correct?
Thank you,
vic
