How did you start your window cleaning business?

Kids, that is.

I’ve got two teenage boys and a tween girl. Oy Vey!

Thats SO IMPORTANT to remember.

And it becomes relative… February is that reminder during a hot July day.
Or when someone bitches that they ā€˜dont wanna work weekends.’

Four wives?!? Wait’ll I tell Libby.

Plus Eddie!

Michael,

Love your post. I am just starting out, same type of scenario except I have not been called to a $500 home yet. I am overwhelmed with the tool choices and would love to know the absolute musts of starting out. I want to stand out with my window cleaning. I just purchased the Ettore start up kit, so I have gathered many tools are not interchangeable. I found a bucket on Betty Mills that looks good for 18". What must I have for any any type of window I may encounter. I want to start hustling. Would love your feedback.

I started out kind of out of the blue. I have done Christmas lights for 20 years now part time. Did them for the local Ronald Mcdonald House for a couple years now and the facility maintenance person was talking to me about how she was having trouble getting someone to even come give them a price on window cleaning. Ding! Light bulb went off. I told her i could look at it, gave her a price and they went for it. Then just started calling my current Christmas light customer list and that was how it started. Wish i had thought of window cleaning a long time ago.

Hey, welcome to WCR. I started my business 15 years ago with just $90 bucks. You can get by with the very basics at first. Your Ettore starter kit should be just fine. Feel free to give us a call some time for specific equipment direction –> 862-266-0677

Most people usually end up with a big mix of stuff from different companies. You can’t go wrong with Ettore and Unger brands.

Oh and the $500 house is likely just right around the corner. Get out there and make it happen!

That client sold the house, and we still do it for the new owner, but it’s an $800 house now.

Wow! Yes, I am hoping to build and grow. Do you have any suggestions on the best pieces for the bucket on a belt? I ordered the Ettore start up kit and will build from there. Thank you.

A couple track cleaner brushes are invaluable, at least in the Midwest. Probably one of my favorite tools.
