Never seen work small enough that an 8pgm was too big…although after reading @Majestic66 post, I guess if you’re approaching it as an add-on to your primary WC biz, then it makes sense. Sort of like how we view windowcleaning, we’ll add it on to a housewash, but if you’re looking for traditional WC results or insides, then we refer them to a full-time WC. Like we know that we don’t compete with full time WCs, don’t expect to compete with full-time PWs with sub-par equipment.
Is it just me or is the 4gpm heavy ass hell to unload from a van. Do you unload it and set it up or just leave it in the vehicle and get a big hose or something?
I have a 4gpm but use the 3gpm or whatever is a bit below the 4gpm. Maybe there’s lighter 4gpm ones?
It’s heavy cause it’s a power washer, unloading definitely isn’t fun.
When I just had the 4gpm machine, I would leave it all in the truck and run hose accordingly. Now that it’s all on a trailer it’s way easier.
If you’re still getting your feet wet with the PW add on, it’s character building, humbling, and motivating to load/unload a machine and wrap hundreds of feet of hose by hand. If you stick with PW and get a solid set up, that’s where you’ll see the $$$ really start to come in.
Thank you!!
Yes it’s heavy , but I’m a strong ass Mo Fo
Naaaa JK I’m weak as shit. I use to take it out of my van with my brother. who worked with me at the time. And set it by the back of van I had those reels set up with pressure hose and a source hose for water. And just connect a feed hose to PW. Used a 5 gallon bucket with house wash mix and washed away.
I left it in when I worked by myself , but with the pulll start a little bit of a PIA to start it
Ramps might be a good way to go if your by yourself.
You don’t need the reels , but you’ll have to work with 50’ hose sections ,
A pick up truck would be cool. Just leave the PW in connect hoses and clean away.
Remember your not doing this everyday so it’ is what it is. You have to start somewhere , you can get by with a 4GPM and a small surface cleaner , but if this is for the long haul save your money , and work hard to get your desired set up.
Equipment is king in this business I’ll have to admit that. Just the thought of going back to the way I use to work would make me not want to work .
