How hot is to hot to work

I think my limit is 115. If it ever gets that hot, I’ll stay home. Otherwise, I’ll keep working. Have worked all afternoon in 110. I hated it, but not as much as I hated working in 6 degrees.

on days forecast above 100, we work from 6 AM until about 2:00 when the jobs allow it.

With no rain, Dallas is silly like that.:stuck_out_tongue:

Try the louisiana humidity. Its insane

NO Thanks!!!

limits for me are 100 degrees for a high, negative 10-15 for a low with no wind.

Are those starting or finishing temps??
It can be 80 here when starting and 107 when finishing up.

Those are temps that I will not work beyond I feel those to are at the safety limit.
(a couple times i have worked 110 and twice neg 20 and 25…not wise)

Steve how many days a season would you say it gets to negative numbers where your at.
Ball park! With it without a wind chill doesn’t matter just negative -0. How often in the teens also .

Never too hot (unless Im on the roof, then it’s a different story). I try to start earlier, guzzle the h20 and stay covered.
My 2 hottest working days last year were officially 42.6c / 108.6f (consecutive days dammit!). The heat and glare radiating off every surface cranked it another 5deg; just about maxxed me out. The tips made it worth it tho.
But I will take the heat over the cold any day!

Yea. And we all know how things that smell bad, smell worse in the heat.

I grew up directly across the river from Staten Island, you dont have to tell me lol

I would say approx 5-10 days.

But wind chill does matter!! LOL

with wind chill I will say approx 15-20 days

That’s a lot of days in that type of weather. Wind chill Definitely matters. We had two days in a row with weather like that so far this winter. One was 9 degrees with a wind chill of -0 no way even a thought on my mind of going out. The next day 9 degrees no wind I did go out, and my customers where like are you crazy not all of them though just the cool ones

You are right, wind does matter. If it wasn’t so windy here all the time I could actually get some work done. It was almost 40F monday but the wind was blowing 50mph. We have had 20 days of sub-zero temperatures this winter and with the storms moving in and out so frequently, the wind has been awful. The last two weeks we have had high wind warnings of 50mph+ almost every day. Dec 10 it was -35F with the windchill. On the other hand it rarely every reaches even the upper 90’s here and the last time it was above 100, maybe 2 or 3 years ago? I would trade the wind for heat any day.

It was 37 degrees today perfect for the winter. Pulled up to do this State farm I went in an had my guy doing the outs. I come walking out to get something out of my van an my guy was like dude what’s up you wrestling someone in there your sweating. I was like no man the heat is on like 80 the lady’s in the offices have space heaters on they have heat on top of heat in there its brutal. Moral of the story you can always put something on . Cold over heat any day:p

Geneva! Spent the last half of my teens there from 15 till I turned 20. Love the finger lakes region, good memories!

Currently 79° today somewhat cloudy but the sun is coming out
