I already know this is a newbie question lol

is this one way hard water will look on a window? I can feel the bumps with my fingernails. Also

 1. Will a simple scrape get this off?
 2. Is there a solution to prevent this? Because I cleaned these windows a couple months ago?

As always, any help is appreciated guys, this forum is awesome

Okay, idk why I didn’t try to scrape before I posted this but I just scraped it lightly and that did nothing, put more elbow griese in my scraping technique or no? It’s tempered glass and the stamp is on the inside so that is where the FD would be…? I may be mixed up tho on which side is more vulnerable

Def hard water. Was it like that when you cleaned it last time? Is there a sprinkler hitting it?

wws I honestly don’t know for sure if it was like that last time or not? The last time I cleaned them was the first time they were cleaned so there were a lot of things going on lol.
I’ll have to ask if they have sprinklers, I’ve never seen them, and they don’t have grass to take care of but there are some bushes in front of the windows so it’s possible

Big tip for newbies - DON’T USE SCRAPERS - at least not until you’ve learned all about scratched glass, what causes it, how to prevent it, all the different coatings and how to recognise them, and most importantly,… make sure your insurance covers you if you scratch glass.

You only need to make one mistake and it can cost $$$$$$ if its a big pane!

As for hard water stains, I personally had success with bronze wool and a generic mineral deposit remover from my local cleaning supply store.

One product is the answer: bar keepers friend. It is the best mineral deposit removed on the planet. Wipe it on wipe it off a moment later.
