Internet Explorer, why does it keep hanging

I don’t know if anyone else here has had this experience. For the last couple weeks, when I load up IE - even IE8 Beta - which I downloaded yesterday - it hangs. At least 50% of the time, IE just opens a blank screen, and doesn’t load the homepage.

However, Firefox always loads, and very quickly at that.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

btw, when both Firefox and Explorer work, Firefox is almost always faster.

Firefox rules!

Mike

Have you tried Chrome?

I’ve downloaded it. But I haven’t tried it out yet.

Mike I would be willing to bet that you have some type of spyware on your pc.

And that can affect just one browser and not another? Does spyware attach itself to a browser or your PC? This crazy interweb thing. I’ll never understand it:confused:

Oh yeah… They always attack explorer. This is because thats what most people use. Fire fox is really way safer to use.

Mike if you dont already have this installed check it out.

Thanks Chris.

But I already have Spybot, I have SpySubtract - which trial period ended. Window Defender, and Avast.

As a former techie I can tell you in the industry IE is known as Internet Exploder.
I avoid Microsoft altogether nowadays and use Ubuntu Linux.

no spyware. I ran tons of scans to look for spyware.
