For those who have iPhones, how are you using it to keep your business organized or to market window cleaning? I know some utilize the slide show to show work pictures, but is there any thing else that has helped you in the business?
I’ve been wondering the very same thing.
I think being able to charge credit cards for only 20 dollars a month is awesome, that was one of the big selling points for me…
What?? You can use the iphone for credit cards, and it is 20 dollars TOTAL charge, all charges included if any? Gos right to your account, no percentage?
Credit card processing
video estimates
gutter inspection videos email right to the customer
email
calender
sceduling
track your website analytics
stay on Wcr all day:D
gps navigation to the job
track your biz expenses on the rd
dunkin donuts locator to fuel up on caffeine
snap pictures of each job for records and quick estimates
monitor the weather I comingrain on the radar
manage to list alerts
take files off your office pc swap with iDisk
take voice memos
You forgot tweeting and talking on the phone!
The program I’m looking at is 20 dollars a month, a 3% fee for each transaction, and a one time fee of 99 cents for the “terminal” application from itunes. For me that’s half the price of Quickbooks.
Tweeting yes… talking no…well rarely
What about that Bubble wrap app for those frustrating days conducting interviews?
why not just use paypal, it is cheaper…
I’d rather not. Some large business who prefer to charge services to their credit card have PayPal blocked.
Yeah i have had companies tell me they wont pay through paypal also.
I use my iphone a ton in window cleaning just with the e-mail alone. I also have my calendar on my phone synced with my gmail calander at home. so i can check my schedule for the entire month with, names addresses, phone numbers, and times of job from just a click away
also new to WCR. really enjoying it
Thanks for the info, and welcome to WCR!
I can’t upgrade to an iphone yet because of our contract with the cell phone company, I have to wait another year, but I have been eyeing the ipod touch. I think its basically the same, just not a cell phone.
Anyone use an Ipod touch to help run their window cleaning business?
Trying to convince my wife but not sure if it will help with the business. If anyone that has one can help me out, go for it, let me hear what you have to say.
Yes that Bubble Wrap app is the bomb
Pandora
I have the ipod touch but I don’t use any apps for business unless you count downloading audiobooks to listen to while I work or checking mail using the wi-fi.
I’ve been using a Blackberry Pearl for over a year now, on my second device, and it broke down Today. Not sure if I want to shell out the cash for an Iphone, my phones are with me all the time, and they get a rough daily treatment. Not feeling like spending on one to wreck it in a week, and the touchscreen sure it’s nice, but if I worked in an office, dirty, wet, soapy hands don’t go along very well with it.
There are waterproof iPhone cases available that allow touch screen use.
