It's unwise to pay too little

This is a quote from John Ruskin, if you don’t know him Google him, fascinating stuff. I am planning on putting this on my Bid Sheet, on the back, any thoughts?

“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money; that is all.
When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing is was bought to do. The common law of business balances prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.
There is hardly anything in the world that someone can’t make a little worse and sell a little cheaper – and people who consider price alone are this man’s lawful prey.”

John Ruskin 1819 – 1900

I like it! Maybe add to my web site.

It is amazing how many people fail to realize that going with the cheapest doesn’t mean you’re getting the best deal.

IMO, it would be cheesy on a professional document.

You probably do as well, seeing as though you wanted to hide it on the back…

The sign behind the counter at our local lumber store reads.
" The bitterness of a poor quality job remains long after the sweet feeling of taking the cheapest price"

from a body shop I know of -
“Quality and craftsmanship is long remembered after the price is forgotten”

Does paying more mean better?

I think it is safe to say everyone has been “ripped off” in one way or another.

I find it to be useless adding this to paperwork as it really is not a true statement or theory. The part John left out was paying too much and still getting crap. I would not be nearly as ticked off if I paid a nickel for something and it was junk than if I paid $100 for something I could have got for a nickel.

I prefer to take their minds away from price by focusing on the value. I feel that unless we are cheap, leave price for after they fall in love.

Build value and they will pay… or they wont

I,ve seen and liked…“good work is never cheap”
