Hey guys, this Christmas my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
My Mom went from being a teacher to being a stay at home mom who raised 7 kids, 2 of which are still at home. She gave up a lot in order to raise us. My parents live their lives with a focus on serving others, and without a lot of income they live within their means. They taught me that having good character, honesty and integrity is the right way to live my life. They were strict, and not always perfect - but compared to the rest of the world I had pretty darn good parents. I owe who I am today - to the things they taught me to value when I was young.
That said, my parents have had insurance concerns due to the new insurance regulations, they live in the country and about 30 miles from town, and they don’t have a lot of extra money. I know the cancer and gearing up for her treatment is putting a strain on them financially. And they have her set up to do Chemo once a week for a good 3-4 months before surgery. Just the gas alone traveling back and forth every week for Chemo is going to put a big hit on them.
I know quite a few people who like my companies monkey logo, I just set up a Teespring account and if anyone is interested they can buy a t-shirt with the Jolly Roger Monkey w/ breast cancer ribbon on the front in support of my mom. 100% of anything collected on these T-Shirts will be a gift to my mom and dad to do with as they see fit, whether that means buying gas for the car or a couple new books for my mom as she is laid up.

I grabbed one. I think starting a teespring campaign for your mom is really awesome. I know if my mom got cancer I’d be doing everything I could to help her. I’ll keep your mom and your family in my prayers.
