"Ladder" access

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering. I charge extra for windows that require ladder acces. Now that I have a wfp, I would like to have another way to describe this window. I feel like a customer might feel I am being dishonest by charging him for “ladder” access and then cleaning the window without using said “ladder”

Any thoughts? “Elevationally Challenged”?

Thanks,

First floor… second floor… third floor…

I’ve always charged extra for 3rd floor windows. I still do even though when I clean them with a WFP. My thinking is that they are still more difficult to access and the customer should pay for either better technology to clean them or greater risk to clean them.

For example, I did some windows on a five story condo a few weeks ago and I pocketed $2500 after 7 hours of work. The association was happy. I used a 56’ carbon fiber Super-Lite. The other options would have been to drop from the roof or to use a lift. Both of those options would have been more expensive and would have taken much more time. So the customer paid for more efficient technology.

I also charge by the story. Even with a WFP it does take a little longer to clean higher windows. 1st story is anything I can reach without assistance, If I have to use a step or normal ladder it is charged atleast 2nd story.

I quote one price without specifying method of access or window locations – it’s simpler.

Like Larry I simply give them one price, not a itemized list. All they really need to know is the bottom line.

Use a Wagtail - go here for instructions.

I just give a price. I believe that if you give the customers too many numbers , it might confuse them. Most just want a bottom line price.
