I’ve used 4. Seemed 100% safe to me, but I grew up in the 50’s when boys were boys. We took lots of risks back in the day and learned our limits by trial and error. If it seems dangerous to you don’t do it.
.I just had a thought. Four sections is OSHA approved! So the four piece set up is ok … unless being upside down is a problem.
How does osha see inside the house
There’s a wise ass in every crowd. Your teachers must have had their hands full back in the day.
That’s an understatement !
Hello all!
I thought I’d use some of my slow time this winter to make a half section. Is the best way to still cut down a base section from the bottom? If so, how long does your half piece measure?
Thanks for sharing, Adrian. Looks better than mine. How was fitment with the other sections? Did you find you needed to bend it a bit to get a smooth fit?
@jairusgould, using a 6’ base section will make a standard 4 foot (3 rung) “half piece”.
Whoever decided that 4 is half of 6, or 3 is half of 5 (depending on whether you count total length or rungs), should probably have their head examined… but that’s the nomenclature of stack ladders.
Fitment was tight. I had to smooth out rivets with a file
I also added wax, from a candle. It operates smooth as silk.
