Net 30; Extending Credit, Do you Charge Interest?

Trust me, I was scared at first to start doing that especially for bigger companies. I just got sick and tired of the real estate agents pulling that crap on me and once its done I gotta hunt them down? Me and another window cleaner on here, David Makin, did a grand opening for a swanky restaurant in downtown once for a janitorial outfit I never heard of before, we did it day of the grand opening, they new it was payment upon completion-not only did they try to burn me and him but they weren’t answering phone calls etc.

My contact just kept saying that the owner was a good guy and a millionaire! Like I care. If he’s so loaded, why can’t he pay a lousy 200 bucks?

So not only did we go back that night durring their grand opening and use our t bars with muddy water to take back our work, but I put em on blast right here on WCR. I love the power of SEO! I left em a message that if we didn’t get the money by morning to google the name of their outfit in the morning!

I got a call at 10am.

Paid by 1pm.

Should’ve held that post for ransom, but I gave my word I wouldn’t.

That was the last straw. We were both so broke the roach’s in our livingrooms were laughing at us!

So thats when I decided to do the payment upon completion, SIGNED CHECK needs to be seen before any tools leave the truck.

UNLESS its an annual contract from a management company. You ain’t gonna get it from them, and you’ll not be called again by them for another bid I can promise you that. Management companies are pretty standard and strict when it comes to terms, but they ALWAYS pay. NEVER once had an issue with one, ever.

I did some work for a janitorial company, Master Maintenance. They were supposed to pay when the job was finished. Instead they sent message through their night manager that it was Net 30. I Googled the S%&t out of them until I found ever contact I could and then outlined to them the agreement we had and I expected my pay ($1,200). Finally after 4 weeks I got my check and the night manager gave me the contact information of the owner of the office that I cleaned. I now deal directly with the owner and that job has grown by $400!

It’s extremely difficult to work for janitorial outfits. They rarely ever know how to bid on windows, and they always expect to turn a huge profit from their sub’s, even after they screw the pooch on their bid.
