After receiving new equipment such as Huck Towels and Scrubbers, Do you wash both or just huck towels before using for window cleaning? Also when washing Huck towels do you dry them since hang drying makes them dry different?
I’ve never washed a new scrubber before using it. I don’t think it would hurt though. Generally I’ll wash all new microfibers before use with borax, no soap. But if your hucks are recycled, they may already have been washed and you may be good to go.
Either way, just don’t use a a whole lot of soap when you wash them. I dry everything in the dryer, too, btw.
Be careful drying the scrubbers. i have had a few brands shrink up on me by almost an inch. Otherwise I was all towels before I use them and dry in a dryer with no fabric softener.
I wash hucks before first use; dry on medium heat. I tend to wash and dry them alone to avoid lint from other items.
I do not wash scrubbers before first use. I always allow them to air-dry.
I also air dry my scrubbers sleeves.
Yes always air dry your scrubbers. Nothing bites you in the butt more than wanting to use that scrubber you like , and then come to find out it has shrunk abaout an inch from the dryer…:mad:
I always like to wash scrubber sleeves before the first use in order to avoid those loose fibers that can get all over the glass and your rubber blade while doing the first window cleaning with them.
When I used hucks I machine washed scrubber sleeves and hucks together. I’d then machine dry the hucks but air dry the scrubber sleeves. I still air dry all of my scrubber sleeves.
Oh yeah, new huck towels become better after several washes.
I did a lot of research on reclaimed textiles, different types of rags and towels. Towels will become more absorbent, the more they get used/washed/dried. I would personally hang dry scrubber covers, and machine dry huck/terry type towels.

Never thought of washing either when new. I don’t really think it’s going to make that big of a diferance.
