Just got a new 5 stage RO/DI. Used it for the first time on a commercial job. TDS was 245 going in - 0 coming out at the start of the job. About 2 hours in the TDS starting climbing - eventually got to 20-22 within 3 hours. Started to not get good results and had to shut it down. This is a brand new unit – why would the TDS climb so high after such a short period of time? What can we do to get it back down to 0?
Sorry to hear that, I bet that was frustrating.
Hopefully someone like Shawn can weigh in on this.
Something isn’t set-up properly. I run my 5 stage everyday and didn’t change a single filter last year.
Who’d you buy it from? Call whoever sold it to you and have them walk you thru the setup to make sure everything is as it should be.
WFP is the single greatest addition to window cleaning in the last 20 years!
There is a chance that the brine seal on your membrane is leaking. The brine seal is the rubber o-ring around the out side of the membrane that keep the feed water from leaking in to your product water. It could be fliped the wrong way and when the pressure from the pump comes up it leaks. You could try pulling the end cap off your mem. (with the power off and the pressure at 0) and check to see it is set right.
