New tools!

Always good to get some new stuff…bit like a kid with a present!
Received my first order from WCR in only a week (to UK), bought an Ettore swivel brush, 22" slayer and Ettore contour pro+ handle.
Went on hols just after they arrived and been really busy this week so have not used them for long.
Brush is really useful.
The Slayer is ace, very light and easy to use. However, unless Chris and co. can get 22" length LFI rubbers I shall have to use Sorbo!Been reading the posts about Sorbo and WCR today…so maybe this is the diplomatic answer, see how well they work together!!! Would recommened the Slayer to anyone though…its great.
As said, not much time to get used to the contour pro+, so just attatched Slayer to my old Ettore handle. Am finding the contour pro+ very difficult to get used to, not really sure of the benefits of the spring system (by the way, the “bolt” on the spring has already gone rusty, this normal?), if you are a bit heavy handed it comes into play and buggers everything up! When your rubber is wearing out for instance, you automatically press harder. This is then counter-acted by the spring system…will this lead to replacing rubber at the first sign of wear? Shall endevour to understand and get all the benefits from this tool, but I think it will take a while.
Thanks for the stuff WCR…just wondering, am I the only person in England with a Slayer?

Sam, if the Ettore Swivel brush you got is the Ettore “Super Brush” then be warned that you need to keep the screw on the handle pretty tight or it will come out and you may lose it like I did.

The bolt and bolt hole on the handle is very unique so it will only work with the bolt and nut made for it. I had to take a bolt and nut off of my Ettore swivel T-Bar handle (which is identical) and put it in the handle on my Ettore Super Brush.

As far as the Contour Pro Plus handles go…I tried them and just didn’t care for them at all.

The Slayer is great!

Yes it is the Super Brush…thanks for the advice, Nuvudude, I shall keep my eye on it!

WCR sells Soren rubber made by Ettore for the Slayer channel in 22". I don’t know how it compares to LFI, but is much better quality than Sorbo rubber.

I’ll second that about the Soren rubber made by Ettore. I use Soren in my Slayer channel and regular Ettore in my standard channels.

I thought WCR stocks LFI rubber. Maybe not in the 22" size though? If not the Soren rubber will work really well in the Slayer.

Cheers fellas…shall try the Soren rubber then. WCR does stock LFI but only sells it in
18". Never tried Soren before, only the regular Ettore rubber. Though as a genearal rule I have used Unger soft rubber…I know it does not last so long maybe, but is about half the price of Ettore here! Still, I really like the Slayer, so it will be worth paying out a bit more for some quality rubber. Thanks…

The Soren rubber is great stuff. It holds up as well as my standard Ettore rubber. As for the Contour handle if you give it a try you might be surprised how useful it is. If you ever need a zero degree handle it’s built in on the Contour so you wouldn’t need a second handle.

Richard, you should try thread-locker if you’re having problems with screws coming loose.

You can get it pretty much everywhere, Autozone, hardware stores, etc

Hey Tony,
The zero degree is one of the reasons I bought the Contour pro. Its not unusual to be asked to clean the top windows of a conservatory and the zero degree option would be perfect for the inside of these…or at least, I hope it will!!
Going to give the tool a good try next week, just had so much to do after holiday that I felt it was a bad time to try something new.

you can’t really buy enouft hand window cleaning tools !! over the years u will have the things u perfer !! just a learing curve !!just be open minded !! i use some stuff once or twice a year !! other than ladders, water poles.and pure water systems being the largest cost. save your slayer rubber as it can be sharped. use the #two slot for every thing. i use mostly sorbo ! u can buy a 50 ft rool. cut sq to just a little sort of windows. one pull of sq !! borning but saves time !!no u can’t buy it here !! lots of tweaking !! i’m allways tweaking here and there !! quality then speed !! pace your self !! i cut 20-30 mins off the same project !! this why window ceaning isnt’ work !! there’s more but hope this helps !!

Thanks for the tip Carlos! That stuff would be great on all swivel handle tools because they need to be a little loose in order to function properly yet you don’t want the screw to fall out.

I’ll be sure to go by Autozone or Wally World and pick up a tube.

That explains all the exclamation points.
