I know that we’ve all seen worse than this. Just a little blog I wrote for my customers of what cigarettes do to glass

It gets harder and harder to come up with good ideas and fresh content. How many different ways can you talk about cleaning windows

Nasty! I hate working in smokers houses, which is very rare. Cleaned a house site unseen this fall and the owner was smoking the entire time, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. It’s gross because the windows are all sticky from the smoke, had to blade it off the windows.

I have a yearly customer that smokes so much the water that drips off is darker than the wood stain. And to make it worse she follows you around and talks to you while she chain smokes. Last time she cornered me at the bathroom window.

That’s about as bad as it gets!
I did one of my worst ones ever, surely in several years this past April. It took all the patience and meddle I had, but the husband (culprit) was in awe of how good they looked.

I did one this passed summer , chain smoker . Windows hadn’t been done in 8 years . I had to change the water in my bucket 3 times just to do the inside . Each window had to be scrub and squeegee 2 or 3 times. The color of the dirty water was something I never seen before . Looked like a 5 gallon bucket of coffee . Really bad !!

I remember when I first started cleaning carpets, I was supposed to clean this guys home office. This room had to of been 20x30, it was huge. It was completely filled with smoke from tobacco from a pipe. It was so dense I couldnt see him clearly. I turned the job down. It was just too much for me to deal with

… Yep, I used to have quarterly customers whose windows ran brown like that every time.

Here’s an idea… If you know ahead that they’re smokers who will be smoking, pick up an Njoy E-cigarette at the nearby 7-11 and give it to them as a gift. They’ll enjoy it and you won’t smell it.

Sprayway is perfect for nicotine.

This space for rent!

I have always used ammonia on cigarette smoke. Just what an old pro told me to use in that instance and it works like a charm.

Yea it’s hideous, worst situation to have to clean.
I did a house once as well maybe a few, I’m sure we all did if you’ve been cleaning for any length of time.
If you haven’t you will one day, so get ready.

I CHARGE MORE, or now pass on cleaning entirely.

I ve also found that cleaning the nicotine I absorb some of it and it puts a knot in my stomach and a tight band headache, after an hour of insides. I ve found alcohol to work well. Also rinse the rubber cause it sticks to the rubber and makes problems
Successive heating seasons make the smoke dry in layers and it cleans of in layers, like stripping paint. But wear gloves. Wash a lot and don’t touch your face.Nicotine poisoning is no joke. Nicotine is the main ingredient in rat poison , disconnects their nervous system

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

I’ve done a couple smokers houses that were real bad, but I hate the cat hair houses. Gets on your blade and make a mess. Plus my asthma starts to kick in.

Oh, nicotine is also key to the Ebola virus treatment. It’s also promising for Alzheimer’s treatment. I’m not sure the problem is necessarily nicotine so much as all the junk in the smoke like tar and whatnot.

But I don’t smoke so I’m not sure.
