Oceanfront mist and rainX

I have a client that wants rain x on their windows to help removal of sea mist sticky gunk.

What are your thoughts on this?
Is there a better product than rain x?
Should I just recommend Water fed more often without rain x.
I know if rain x is used it will be hydrophobic for many years to come.
They have a friend that has done this to their home, perhaps I should look at that home before applying anything.

I would not recommend rain x for that purpose… Although I’m not an expert on the product, I would just think it better to set up a repeat maintenance service and clean their windows more frequently.

Also, not sure if it was rain x, but I once saw something used for the same purpose that was really sticky and impossible (nearly) for me to clean. Someone else here might be able to advise better on the product, but that is one thing to watch out for…

Thanks,

I had a customer a few years back that wanted to try rain-ex on his windows. He paid us to apply it. He was a once a year customer and the next year the windows were just as dirty. I asked him if there was any difference in staying clean longer and he said he didn’t think so.
