Opinions on Pressure Washing this building?

Yeah, you probably will. How many GPM?

2.7 gpm
It’s got the detergent resevoir/injector after the pump…right before the hose.

So probably just need the nozzles???

And a bigger machine hahahaha

Hey man, if you can get the downstream injector and a 3000psi rated ball valve with quick connects, you are in business. Spray the softwash solution of your choice onto the building using your new downstream injector and follow it with a rinse using your ball valve. If the rinse reaches high enough you are in business. Like you said yourself and the building guys said, this sucker don’t need no power wash, but a power rinse. You would be amazed at the rinsing power of a half cocked ball valve. If that doesn’t work you will have to bust out your extension pole with a rinsing tip.

Use the machine you have even if it takes a bit longer, how much longer can it take? Especially if you are following the expert advice of @Infinity and soft wash this sucker. This way you got an extra $2-3K in the bank and can comfortably think about a bigger machine later.

Will an xjet or xjet m5 be a better option for his situation. if it works with his machine he should be able to shoot more chemical than the ds and won’t have to buy extra nozzles

You know what you are probably right. I have not used an xjet or m5 before but have seen vids of guys using them with great success. I myself have rigged up a 12V sotwash setup and it works for me very well. If I have to get above 30’ I run the chemical line up my wfp and use a special tip to spray up there as well.

That’ is not a bad idea. Not that it would work better, but more that it would work with his machine.

You can get a hotter mix of solution TTW , but does it need it. I don’t know I’m not there. The xjet comes with proportiioners there is s chart to show what kind of draw you get from each one.

I would get the xjet pail an a m5 xjet you could also turn the ball valve down on the xjet because if you don’t you will run through a ton of Chem very quickly.
So ya an xjet would be a good option for him.

It’s just going to take a little longer to rinse become of the flow, but what are ya going to do.

Remember with a 3-5 gallon downstream injector an a 4gpm. You get a 10-1 draw

^^^ I think :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Btw I never used these proportiioners with my xjet . Don’t even know how they go in. Lol. I’ll have to give them a try though an figure them out.

I just us my ds it draws a lot of chemical and has a flow control on it

these generally only work with a hose of 7 meters or less.

Xjet would be overkill/unnecessary with such a small machine. His draw rate from a DS injector will be more than enough for a building wash without any nasty stuff on the siding.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to do a place this big with such a small machine. I’m afraid the shooter tips wouldn’t get the height needed at only 2.7gpm. At 4gpm, maybe.

I would recommend finding the largest rental machine available and doing the job with that (hopefully 4+gpm, but you might get by with a 3.5 machine). Make sure there’s adequate flow from the tap at the job site.

Then call Bob at pressuretek and get setup for downstreaming. Don’t try to use the injector that comes with the machine. Also may be good to buy an extra 100’ length of pressure hose, so you’re not moving the machine around as much.

One thing you could try doing, just to test the shooting capability of your little machine, is this:

  1. Get some brass pipe to hose barb fittings. You want 1/4" mpt and a few different sizes of barb, between 1/8" and 1/4" hose.

  2. Get a few nozzle coupling adapters or a J-Rod holder from Pressuretek.

  3. Install the hose barbs in the adaptors and use them in your pressure gun to see how high you can shoot the water with the various fittings. They’ll have a somewhat similar effect to the shooter nozzles.

  4. If it turns out you can hit 30’ with one of those barb fittings, then use that along with the DS and go to town.

Remember, soap from the bottom up, and rinse from the top down

Not necessarily true. There are proportiioners that can lower his draw rate.

But I agree with just rent a 4 GPM machine, an get everything needed to DS.

Just got off the phone with their Risk Management/Accountant…he said they want both…just waiting for them to approve both services.

This thing looks like a beast.

Update.
Finished today, took me two days.
Was shooting for one long 14hr day.
But I had some set backs. :disappointed:

The mold on the ledges/edges of two sides of the building didn’t come off with the downstream solution. The paint was sort of running down with the solution tho haha
