Pictures of first residential bid

Just wondering if any of you old pros could help on pricing a house like this one. I am only cleaning outside glass and it is going to be an every three months service contract. I have a number in mind, I just want to make sure I am not to high or low in price. This client also has car dealerships that I will get the contract on if job is satisfactory. Thanks for any help. I am just trying to keep prices up and not give low-ball prices. Thanks

Are you planning on using a wfp?

Unfortunately I will be using a squegee for this one.

Hmm… very close to the $400 mark if I came across this in Australia, plus maybe a bit more for the annoying awnings.

Got the job this morning and will be going to quote two of his dealerships for quarterly cleaning. Lots of glass.

Nice! I just did my first house as well standard tract home. $275 with a one time $55 off. I checked on local compitition and this was the med average. Real good to hear you are getting more business. how long did the house take you?

I don’t clean it until friday. I am guessing it will maybe take 6 or seven hours as I work by myself and it’s something that I have to get faster and more knowledgable on. I am working up a quote for his dealerships right now. Each one has over 120 pcs. of glass and they aren’t small. Would be nice to have help with these but I’m too cheap to hire anyone until I learn a lot of the ins and outs of WC.

Triston, id probably be in the $550-600 range. Good luck, hope you get the dealership too, I guess you have to keep in mind that hopefully you’ll get his other business too so you dont want to go too high. I terribly underbid a job last week ,thought it would be 4-5 hr job,it took 9 hours  I dont even want to tell you what I charged, but on the other hand we do a the medical building that her husband works at and is in charge of accepting bids and paying so I made some of the money back…all evens out in the long run, i guess…good luck

Put ZERO faith in this promise, it is all talk for now.

As far as price goes, here is the best advice you will EVER hear:

There is no such thing as the right price. Price is subjective to the individual, and no universal standards of high or low can contain it.

Some guys would try charging $4,000 and others would do it for $400.

There is no correct price. The best approach you can take is to try and step into the mind of your prospective client and figure out how much the client would imagine it might be worth, and try to hit that nail directly on the head.

Well, I suppose I am too late

Congrats on getting it. How much are you doing it for?

I agree. I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count how many times a potential client has promised more work based on job quality and/or price adjusting.

I have been a business owner for a long time. I agree with clients that would say if you do a better price I will get you more customers or you can do anouther of my propperties. I rarely was given anything except I gave a discount on a hollow promise. I then came up with "if you have more work then I will credit you X amount when I do the work or get a referal. That worked way better for me. Also I would like to know how long it took to. I did a one story track home and the outside took 6hrs. inside took 2.5hours. I am new as well so I know I will get faster. But this was a real eye opener. I love when I look at something to start or do I usually say that should be easy(kiss of death) it always is harder & more trouble when you start. Like this house hade real large rose bushes I have been a landscape contractor for years and said this will be no problem, well I now have the scares that show things are never easy.
