Anybody seen this? It’s a series of shows that Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan did. They take on people inventions and market them on TV infomercials. It’s pretty interesting the way they set everything up and market it. They do a lot of testing to see what people are willing to spend and if it will be a success or not. Then once they launch the commericals they track what time of day and what channels are more successful. It’s pretty interesting the way they show how they market different products.
They’ve been playing the episodes non stop on Discovery channel. It’s sad Billy Mays died, he appears pretty healthful and youthful in these shows that were filmed not too long ago.
Been watching it for the past several weeks. Great show! Comes on Sunday morning at 10AM here on Discovery. It was pretty creepy this past Sunday after watching it and then going on-line and the headline says Billy past away. Made the hair on my arms stand and jaw drop open.
My wife and I affectionately refer to him as “The Beard”.
He is fun to watch. Pitchmen is a really cool show. It’s pretty sad that he died. The news said he was involved in a pretty rough commercial airline landing. They landed so hard that stuff fell from the overhead compartments and hit him on the head. Then he died the next day. That would be an unfortunate coincidence.
Before I made fun of Billy Mays, but now after watching Pitchmen all day yesterday and really getting to know him, I’m sad he’s gone… one of the best salesmen in the world!!!
Watching it makes me want to get into that, looks fun…
We just got cable (actually FIOS) after not having it for some years now. It was cheaper to get it with the high speed internet package deal. keep forgetting we have all these new stations. I’ll have to check out that show if I can find it. Too many to scroll through now!
