Pole work

I have an unger 8 foot extension pole but I’ve been considering getting a pole close to the 30 foot mark. Garelick has a 24, ettore has a 27, and unger has a 30. Does anyone do work with these poles? How many stories can you do with a 30 footer? And lastly can someone post up or direct me to a video of someone working with one? I’d like to see how hard/easy it is to work with. Thanks.

I have an Unger 30’ Tele Plus (5X6’.) I purchased it for a specific third-story job. Lotsa flex, but less than a comparable length 3X10’ pole.

I’ll be using my Gardiner SLX 35 next time.

I use the Garelick 24 ft pole<a href=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/extension-poles/garelick-poles/garelick-24-3-section.html?&a_bid=185e0de6” target=“_top”><img src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/accounts/default1/banners/garelick extension pole-4.jpg” alt=“” title=“” /></a><img style=“border:0” src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/scripts/imp.php?&a_bid=185e0de6” width=“1” height=“1” alt=“” /> It’s a great pole and can do windows at 30ft. I love it w/ my wagtail whirlwind <a href=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/specialty-squeegees/wagtail-flipper/wagtail-whirlwind-14.html?&a_bid=9765eafe” target=“_top”><img src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/accounts/default1/banners/wagtail whirlwind.jpg” alt=“” title=“” /></a><img style=“border:0” src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/scripts/imp.php?&a_bid=9765eafe” width=“1” height=“1” alt=“” /> for roundtop windows when I can’t use my wfp.

I like the Unger Tele Plus 30 ft. 5x6 pole. The sections are only 6 feet long which makes them easier to raise and lower than a pole with less sections. More sections also make the pole stiffer. I like all my poles to be the same brand so any tool can be snapped onto all the poles.

Learn to use a pole !! I haven’t fell of my pole in 27 years !! Stan , pr

Thanks for that video, it gives me a good idea at what I’m thinking about. I’m pretty good with my 8 foot and getting better. What was the learning curve for that like? It seems like the flex of that pole would take some getting used to. Also, about the best I could do would be 2nd story with something like that right? Is there any pole that would do a 3rd story?

thanks you guys

Side note… that’s a wicked amount of tools on that tool belt of yours… looks like it prob weighs about 25lbs

It took me a few weeks to be comfortable w/ my pole work. The more you do it though the easier it will get.

Using my Garelick and the Wagtail I do 3rd story windows on my monthly accounts. The flex is actually less than the Unger Teleplus pole in my opinion.

I used to do construction so my wcing belt is no problem at all.

r pole is stiffer than other regular window washing poles and it only weighs 12 lbs. Is that true?

With the Unger 30’ pole you can do 3rd stories provided that the 1st floor is ground level. If you have to walk up (even a half flight) stairs to get to the first floor , then there’s 2 more floors above that, the 30’ will usually come up short.

It also depends how tall you are.

Also, the higher you go, the better your poling skills need to be. You can’t keep going over a window til you get it right.
