Pressure washer suggestions

A commercial client of mine has asked me to do pressure washing for them, for their sidewalk. I haven’t gotten into pressure washing, but am considering doing it for this client, and doing it as an add-on for my commercial clients in the future.

What pressure washer type, or brand would you suggest for effectively cleaning sidewalks, and pavement. Secondly how much would you charge? or If you could give me a general range. Is it charged by square foot?

Thanks,

Michael,

To effectively wash hardscapes (concrete, stone, brick) you will need a hot water pressure washer to start.

We have had good success with LANDA machines. They are extremely well built and last for years and years.

DELCO in Texas has an entire line of pressure washers and parts, along with videos, books, pricing help, etc

I use a cold water unit by Karcher that does the trick for hardscapes and building wash…but for the harder soiled areas and gum…cold water just wont do. The concrete will come up before the gum will. If you want to just add on for this client, cold water should do. If you have the money, I would suggest to do it right the first time and get a hot water unit, that way you can handle just about any job that comes your way.

Check out Pressuretek.com. They will have what you need. Remember the more GPM the better.

If cleaning sidewalks, small buildings, homes, etc. is what you envision yourself doing then you can start with a good cold water portable machine. We started out with one and it was a great add-on to our window cleaning business. Through the years we have expanded to hot water trailer rigs that can handle any cleaning job. Some people charge by the square foot but we have always based our rate on a per hour charge that would cover expenses and leave a profit. Here is one of many suppliers out there to deal with. Envirospec Good luck.
