Quick question about Water Fed system

So I’m thinking about adding a water fed system to my company, I saw this (pic posted) and was wondering if anyone has built their own system using this or something similar on their own. I’m thinking about getting a plastic 55 gallon drum for my
Water supply. Any input would be great, more or less my question is will this be sufficient

they have one with a higher cc, this is 79cc I believe and up to 25 feet. Thanks!

…This is not something used for water fed poles. If you are using pure water from a 55gal drum what you need is a small electric pump. What are you using make pure water, RO or DI?

Nothing at the moment, I do all traditional style cleaning, saw this at harbor freight and thought it might work. Why wouldn’t it work as long as it’s sucking water from my tank and pushing it up the pole? Too much pressure? Thanks for you reply I’m just curious, they had a ton of electric pumps way cheaper

You will need at least a 1/2 cube DI to produce pure water. Tds in your area is going to dictate, whether DI only is going to cost you more than a R/O system. That pump is not for this type of application!!

1 gallon per min @ 60 psi Shurflo pump or a 1-1.8 gallon 60psi shurflo is what you need.

This box system will run a tank from a truck or a cart system etc…

That’s what i am about to make, to run from my truck or my cart.
Tho i am going to add a remote control to it.

cheers

^^ This good information.

Thank you!

In fact, most people start with an On-Demand pure water system - and often just a DI TANK, regardless your TDS.

If you use a DI TANK, you only spend money on purifying water as you make money. Even if it costs $5 an hour, you are working twice as fast!

Spend your money on a quality pole. If, for example, you bought a Reach-iT MINI at WCR, you can get a DI TANK for $99, and a half cubic foot of resin for $100 - BOOM!

Now, you have a 2 storey pole, able to be extended in the future to 4 storeys - able to be fitted with Power and Control Ergonomic Handles, and lots more!

You are getting way to far ahead of yourself (listen to Perry ^^^^^):

  1. Figure out what your TDS is
  2. Determine how you are going to have to treat your water: DI only or RO/DI?
  3. What is the most cost effective equipment to treat your water
  4. Choose a WFP and learn how to use it first
  5. Do your research on a setting up pump system, it’s not as simple as purchasing a pump and connecting your WFP up to it.

Fron the sound of your questions you should definitely listen to mr perrys suggestions. He knows his stuff.

I think I will. I had no clue about it, just saw it and thought it could work.

I use a 25 gal tank. I fill the tank from the hose bib and use a shutoff valve to avoid overflowing the tank. my pumps draw the water from the tank and pushes it out through the RODI machines. I use RO water on 85+ percent of my jobs and the RO gets the water under 5. I can run 4 poles at once at ground/2nd floor level and I have pushed water up 5 stories using single pole with my setup. I use 1.8 GPM, 100 PSI pumps. I have set the pumps where I can adjust the pressure. I have a separate connection to drain the tank when job is completed.

Too many window cleaners in hard water areas either do not started with Water Fed Pole Systems because they are persuaded they need an RO system which defies their budget, or their perception of how they can possibly get an ROI - or - they buy an expensive RO system and a crazy, floppy, fibreglass Water Fed Pole that is inefficient and horrible to effect work at the glass surface.

Hence - despondent worker - revert to Traditional, knowing from personal experience that Water Fed Pole brilliance is a myth,

My advice - get the best pole you can afford - and the cheapest pure water system… The pure water simply rinses dirty water off the glass - and you are only spending when you are making!

Later - if your resin costs are $100 a month, you are making great money, you understand efficiency, and you can justify a Wash-iT PRO!

I haven’t changed my resin in one unit in over a year and it still reads 1 or 0. That unit is used about 4-5 hours daily. I am fortunate my source water tests between 150 to 250. I use the RO 85% of the time.
