Sales books / website

Anyone have any suggestions for a good sales book to read. Or possibly a good website with information on learning sales? I’ve read some books in the past (Zig Ziglar) and for some reason have gotten away from it. Looking for some fresh perspectives.

Thanks

There is a great sales series out there by Jeffrey Gitomer. I have his “Little Gold Book of Yes Attitude” and “Little Green Book of Getting Your Way”. He has a book of sales answers, how to network, building trust and things like that. These are excellent books and cost about $20. I’ve subsribed to his “sales caffeine”, its a weekly email newsletter that has great stuff. I also recommend “How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. These books changed the way I think completely.

Yes Gitomer is excellent! His best book though is the “Sales Bible” a great read.

I think you already found one of the best guys out there. Zig Ziglar is my favorite. What we sell is not complicated, its window cleaning. I’d say give Zig Ziglar another read. He’s a real down to earth guy and simple. K.I.S.S.

We are always searching for something else. Not too long ago
I was buying everything on writing sales copy (copywriting).

I even bought a $1000 course and still was searching!

I realized (after a friend slapped me across the head) that
the first book had most of the answers. If I would have
learned from that book and moved to the next, I would have
about 3 books.

I did not get good at writing until I started to write, a lot. Before
we start searching for “the miracle” it is good to get down what
is in front of us.

Ask yourself Paul, how much in Zig’s book have you really worked
on? What actions have you taken on the information? What actions
will you take on the next book? Why?

Best book for me was Rich Dad Poor Dad. Everything stems from
how our minds perceives. I really started to think about how I thunk.

Rich Dad Poor Dad helped me more with marketing than any book.

Weird but true

Very well said Paul. I think I tend to read a lot and not take action on most of what I read. I’d rather read than act, it’s easier, than real work. Thanks. There is a chapter in You Inc. on this line of thought. Thanks Paul.
