I have a 3 story retirement home I am starting next week and would like to use my WFP, but not sure what to do about the screens. It seems climbing up to remove them with a ladder would defeat the purpose of using the pole. I did do a retirement home earlier this year through the screens with no complaints, but the screens on this one are pretty weak. I don’t want to go ripping through a bunch of screens. What would you do? I am only doing the outsides by the way.
Can they be removed from the inside? If you have to use a ladder to take the screen off, you might as well just clean them by hand while you’re up there, unfortunately.
They could be removed from the insides, but going into the residents rooms to remove and then replace them after doesnt really sound appealing. It is quite a large place.
Check to see if maintenance can remove them.
Yeah, maintenance should be able to do that, but if not just factor that in with your bid ( the time to take of the screens from inside ).
How did you WFP those windows with the screen ON?? There is no way the windows looked good like that. How did you pull that off?
The guy I was doing it with has been doing it that way for years with no complaints. We just scrubbed the window through the screen and rinsed a lot. The window behind the screen is always a little bit smaller, so it all gets scrubbed enough. The dirt particles that actually make it through the screen are pretty small so they clean up pretty easy. We also do that building twice a year so they never get really dirty. I will check with maintenance on the screens, worth a shot. Thanks for the input.
We’ve done a 3 story retirement community in the past and we gave them the option of maintenance taking the screens off or charging more for us doing it. They are more than happy to have their people do it to save money.
I was going to suggest exactly that. Tell them you’d love to remove them, but you can “throw in” a discount if they remove the screens before you arrive … don’t forget to make clear that THEY have to put them back too.
