Are any of you guys worried with the drought we got going on .
There going to start fining companies for using to much water if they don’t cut back.
We do a lot of buildings that we are tuckering using there water for 4-5 hours .
Since this starts June 1st and when everyone gets there bill the first of July and if they go over the 25 % there suppose to save and get fined a thousand dollars there talking about on the radio.
Do you guys think these big buildings will cut back or just cancel .
Just throwing it out there if any So Cal window cleaners have heard anything.
We are in San Juan Capistrano and mostly do residential. I tell my customers who ask that we use no more than two ten minute showers would take for their entire house. This is based on 1/2 to 1 gal/minute for water fed and screen cleaning and water for an interior bucket.
Some day we might have to go entirely old school and go nose-to-glass-less that 3 gallons of water!
Just switch to dihydrogen monoxide. It’s oderless, tasteless, and despite killing thousands of people every year, it’s completely environmentally friendly and “green.”
Maybe a few SoCal can club together and invest in a desalination and purification filtration system…
Job done…
on a serious note:-
(fresh) Water is fast becoming the currency of the world… soon many countries will be at war over it due to damns being built up stream of water courses - infact there are many tensions around the world over this already, it will only get bigger.
Yeah, Obama just declared that the federal government owns the water that falls from the sky, creeks, rivers, etc.
But Israel has made it clear that there will be Repercussions (capital R) if anyone messes with their water.
Good thing I have my own water coming from my own hill out back. And it’s protected by Mr.Smith and Mr.Wesson…
My clients don’t really care , it’s the neighbor with the ugly home is the one that gives me a dirty look when I’m WFPing

Just tell them you’re using pure water. You will cause the little hamster in their head to slow down they won’t know what’s going on

I don’t know how you guys do it down there with no water?
It’s interesting you mention that. My wife and I were doing a little research last year, and I was surprised to learn how many conflicts in the last 50 years have water as a major contributing factor.
Example:
-
The Seven Days War in the Middle East in 1967. Some countries in the region were trying to dam rivers upstream of Israel, leading to a large airstrike form Israel, which was a major military operation that sparked the war.
-
The current crisis in Sudan began partially because some areas of the country are drying up. This caused some tribal-ethnic groups to migrate to new areas, in search of water for crops. This migration has led to much of the conflict between groups that traditionally lived apart.
Those are just 2 examples of pangs of distress that seem to be worsening. I feel sympathy for the hardships coming in the West (and elsewhere).
Who owns the water? That is a problem that no world powers seem to have the solution to.

I heard an interesting stat the other day…
Michigan has more coastline than California.
- the Great Lakes are fresh water.
Unfortunately, our water freezes 6 months out of the year.
Time to unpack the ladders and buckets like the rest of us, boys.

I’m not sure where you’re going with that are you saying that you guys have to ration your water ?
All California residents have a 25% water reduction mandatory requirement

Well no one owns water, but if the water goes thru your territory - i guess your in your rights to do with it as you wish ie: harvest and control it’s movement. - just like airspace.
But yes that sucks for those downstream who depend on it’s life giving and preserving properties.
A lot of indian /chinese/ african rivers - many cities pollute the rivers and in turn those downstream have polluted water to drink and bathe in etc.
Also with many territories damning rivers, this also create problems for it’s wildlife, as such fish cant get to their spawning grounds and the fish populations dies out causing problems for other animals who rely on the fish (food chain).
I’m wondering about this all a little bit. I have 3 tenants in my house and at times zero…when do we determine our 25%? I’ve already gone driplines before the 25%. Maybe I should flood the yard and set my bar high so 25% would be easy. Is it 25% every cycle? Its too vague.
I don’t know how they do it in the UK or else where in the world but in most of the US people have set rights to the water and tampering with the water (ie harvesting/using) when it crosses your property is illegal. Many fights have broken out over this very issue. I’m originally from Nevada and we grow up fighting over our water rights, its worth more than gold out there.
