Storefront flyer/ Handout

Has anyone used a flyer or something similar instead of a business card for storefront soliciting?

granted I’m new, but I think it would be better than just a bs card. I was going to paper clip my card to a flyer. for one, you can list your services and other things completely on the flyer.

All experienced SF solicitors claim face-to-face is required. Use Search to find relevant threads.

excuse my ignorance…what’s SF?

nevermind…store front. lol

Agreed wholeheartedly. Trying to sell storefronts without actually going in and speaking to a manager / owner is useless.

I think he was asking whether or not you use a handout with the sales pitch, not do you skip out on in person selling period.

I’m still in the process of trying a few different approaches but the one thing that is steady all across the board for me? Know exactly what you want when you walk in there and never forget that first impressions (especially if you plan on returning in some time if you’re offer is declined) are often all there is. A person either likes or dislikes your presence in the first few seconds… even before you talk at times. Smile genuinely and speak confidently.

I’ve had a few instances when I’d be in a restaurant waiting for the manager to come or in a shop as a regular customer and witnessed a few of my competitors coming in to market their wcing company. It’s a pretty difficult thing to watch. It takes guts for sure. So build up your confidence with genuine hard work and experience and they’ll pick up on this in a second.

And remember: if you are turned down or ignored or just plain laughed at, do not take that to heart. It’s just not the right time or they are just too cheap for your service. Try again with a new aproach. Talk about what interests them next time… like your experience as a customer in their shop or restaurant. Let them know that you are knowledged in business and how it works for them even.

I meant face to face and leaving a flyer. Has anyone used a flyer in storefront sales?

I leave a postcard with $25 off if they call by the end of the week. I also mailed 100 this month and got 0 calls. Nothing is going to beat face to face prospecting for storefront.

Personally, I find it more convenient to keep business cards organized and at-hand than a bunch of flyers. Store management will have higher priority contacts than the services of a WC’er, IMO. I would toss a flyer and keep a biz card…but perhaps a high-quality brochure would be an alternative.

face to face with a business card is sufficient imo. More importantly is the follow up call later

You have to think of it as a numbers game … RATIO!

Larry is right. Storefront works best with face to face with the decision maker. Do not waste the ink and paper.

Of course it would be face to face. I meant a flyer to leave after the initial face to face.

one thing I have done to build new accounts is to use a 3x5 card offering their third window cleaning free just for allowing us the opportunity to earn their business. It has worked great and only use it if the store owner is close to deciding and just needs a little help. also, I only offer it on jobs that are agreeing to a monthly agreement and takes 30 min or less to do
