Haha…not everything correlates like that…I have some nice pots, pans, and cutlery - but I don’t claim to be a chef. I also swagger out with some smooth moves now and again - but don’t claim to be Ricko Suave`. It is very possible to be a professional window cleaner and use straight pulls.
Dude, put some soapy water on the window and get it off however feels good to you.
Get the check and move on. It aint world peace.
Window cleaners are some fancy little pusses sometimes.
Obviously he can fan a 12" x 24" or 16"x 36" transom.
Rather than using one pull…
lol
… I can get the same results (clean windows) using either a squeegee or a microfiber cloth. A squeegee is faster and easier for
sure. Using just cloths only makes me a slow professional not a quick one.
Matthew, not sure if you tried this but try carrying a 4 inch squeegie in a pocket, this way when you pull from left to right with the 18inch and with the excess water that is on the left/right side of the window, just use the 4inch and pull down on both sides. eliminates the need for rags.
I still carry a microfiber but one will last me a few days now.
This.

Like chris said, at the end its the result that matters…
If I go to a high end restaurant, I can care less if the chef can toss around my food an make cools tricks with fire and what not… All I care is how good my food tastes…
No, But you can play doctor. :o
Wow
This was an entertaining thread.
As long as the customer is happy and the results get you referrals does it matter how the window is cleaned?
A slow professional = a clown in a pedal car
A fast professional = an Indy car & driver

I would settle for crappy food if the show was good enough
But if you have the choice between good food without a show or good food with a show, showmanship wins every time.
Most of our customers are not expecting a show - but they do expect some form of professionalism and clean windows, show or not.

I guess every one cleans glass a little different…pulls, fan, micro, huck, windex, paper…and lets not forget the gas station squeegee.
The bottom line “THE GLASS NEEDS TO SHINE”.
I guess the general veiw by the majority is that. As soon as u are getting paid to clean windows your a pro
Regardless

Oh I didn’t forget!
Who needs a scrim with a beard like that?
- frequently uses the “reach around”
“Professional Grade”
Everyone can go ahead and LIKE this…^^^^
LMAO !!!
PS…I have shaved a little since then.
… Depending on your definition of professional. There are professional musicians (they make a living doing it) and amateur
musicians (music is more of a hobby or pastime). So you could define professional window cleaner simply as, one who makes a living at it.
Also the word shows up describing appearance, in regards to professional looking clothes, or professional looking marketing pieces, or something along those lines. Professional can also be used to describe someones behavior, how they run their business (ethics and such) or how they relate to customers.
You could also use the word professional to describe the techniques used to clean windows but given all the other factors around the word professional I would not limit defining a window cleaners professional-ness based solely on techniques used.
Well Said!!
So… You’re saying the flashy/professional looking truck, uniform, and mannerisms all overshadow the fact that someone can clean the glass with similar technique to that of a maid and that makes him a pro?
Interesting

I think he’s saying look the look and walk the walk.
